And I'm sure Mel really ...I understand, Paula. And I'm sure Mel really thought it was a great idea and had in his heart to please you, make things easier on you. I've never been much of a jewelry gal. I used to love to get flowers, but later in life I fine it a waste. My all time favorite gift from Pete was a set of wheels he got for my 1979 Mustang. Before we were married, I had seen it done in a Hot Rod magazine, but when I had took it to Modica Bros. they told me it couldn't be done. Well, Pete knew this made me very sad. He took it up there, told them their wheels had been on one in the magazine and they figured out how to do it. (Ain't it just like a man to only listen to a man!?) Then he surprised me with it at work for my birthday. Modica Bros. was so proud of how it turned put that they took pictures and left them up for thirty years!!!Barbara In Caneyheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06053601327400989802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2967955433805290702.post-73239167745074315442017-04-20T15:41:06.916-05:002017-04-20T15:41:06.916-05:00It took a little while for Thomas to realize that ...It took a little while for Thomas to realize that a gift on a special day might be more appreciated (at the beginning of our marriage, that is) if it were of a personal nature and not something to do with fishing or hunting. lol A few years ago, however, on the day of our anniversary, we just happened to be grocery shopping together, and I saw a very nice potato peeler for a good sale price. I bought it and then later joked that it was my "anniversary gift." He was appalled and quickly pointed out that he'd gotten me something much nicer than that. But I have to say, I still use that peeler, and it is the best and sharpest potato peeler I've ever owned. If we'd been newly married and expecting a baby at the time, though, I would NOT have wanted anything that practical!Lorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08506026496063245730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2967955433805290702.post-66313739583927019392017-04-19T21:38:08.889-05:002017-04-19T21:38:08.889-05:00This is in response to your saying you guys drove ...This is in response to your saying you guys drove and didn't know exactly where you were but just knew you would eventually come to a road you would know....that is exactly how we did travel. I bought the newer electric ones and love them yes I bought two, lol. They are lighter and so much easy. I have them in two sizes and when I cook I can cook a meal in the cookers. Quick and easy, lol. Grover has never bought me anything that I can remember, but if he did it would sure be a surprise, He always told me to get what I wanted.
