Isn't this a nice looking couple? I've known them since 1959 when we bought our house. It wasn't anything to brag about but was much better then the bungalow we were living in behind our landlady. It was ours and we fixed it up a little. This couple was living next door in the duplex which we later bought to rent out. He was in the air force and she was a stay at home wife like I was. Lucky for us both she was a small town girl living in a big city. One day I had a knock on my door and she shyly ask to borrow a cup of sugar. We were friends and still are from that day on.

What a sweet story. Glad you made a lifelong friend.
Ah yeah, I love it when those memories kick in for me. I know the feeling. Such a 'community feeling' when a neighbor comes over in need of something simple, but very important at the time.
I smiled when Sara of 'Saras Next Chapter in Life' said they had moved to a small town of 500.
How nice taht must be...
Always a good read here at the Rancher's house.
Wonderful!
Lovely couple.
Nice to have good friends.
I didn't have good luck with neighbors. I got a knock on the door and it was my alcoholic neighbor offering me a six pack of beer.
