Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Sometime I Don't Know If I Live In Town Or In The Country.
The goats were out this morning. I didn't have time to stop and knock on the door to tell the owners. There have been goats in our neighborhood ever since we've lived here so they may qualify under the grandfather clause. The rooster, now that is a different story. He is new to the neighborhood. At least he is quiet this morning and so are the two big dogs that hang over the fence and bark. We've had drizzle and some rain the last few days so the animals are trying to stay dry. The man who owns the rooster gives haircuts in his back yard. He leaves a full size mirror out in the back yard. I guess he likes to be ready. Sometime if the wind is just right we can hear coyotes, other times the train across town. Sometime I think I live in the country and sometime I think I live in town. Once when I was coming home I saw a fawn going into the senior apartment yard as if it knew where it was going and what it was going for. When John used to walk early in the morning he would see a fox in a neighbor's yard and it wasn't their pet. This same neighbor owns a big truck and parks it beside his house. His driver fires it up late to haul sand to Houston. His truck is painted yellow, my un favorite color. When we moved here there was still brush and field mice and scorpions. Guess it was a good trade off.

one could say you have the best of both worlds? :)
Field mice I wouldn't mind...but scorpions?!! OH dear, seriously, I don't think I could sleep at night...I'd be feeling something crawling over my legs.
Living in the country, and then hearing the sound of a train whistle going through town or the clickety-clack of iron hitting the rails...I would like that sound!!!
Seems you have had it all, over the years Paula.Scorpions... I'm with Hootin Anni on that one... YIKES LOL!!Me no likey mice either,so guess I wouldn't fit the country girl lifestyle at all.Haaa.Have a great day. It's my bedtime here over the pond.Take Care God Bless Kath xx
I LIKE goats. They are kind of sweet. Not crazy about roosters, though. They make a racket. You have the best of both worlds.
Never encountered an scorpion, That part was a good trade off. Not too sure about the big dogs barking all day. That can grate on my nerves...
But in my opinion, it is good to feel some country!!
