A Bird That Lives Up To Their Name
We ate stuffed chicken breast at the hospital cafeteria today after church. When we came out to the parking lot to leave there was a Chaparral Bird, or Pasiano as the Hispanics call them,or Roadrunner as most around here call them running around on the sidewalks. He/she wasn't afraid of us so we started our usual chit chat about why we thought the bird was here in town. John said I hope his wife is not in the hospital. I said worse yet, I hope that wasn't his wife we just ate. Oh no! It can't be, remember roadrunner meat is dark meat. Oh yes, thank goodness. Then we recounted when we both ate a roadrunner for medicine when we were kids. We didn't know each other then but we were both country kids and needed something to clear up a boil. We can't say it was a good meal but it did the job. We never had another one, Roadrunner or boil.

I used to see lots of roadrunners when I lived in San Angelo - they often landed in my back yard. I seldom see them where I live now. They are fascinating creatures.
I have never seen a roadrunner up close and personal. How interesting that you do. GOSH never heard of eating one either. Does it taste like chicken???

I've always wanted to see a roadrunner. I have always wondered how fast they are. I've been fascinated by them ever since the Roadrunner cartoon when I was little lol
I had a boil on my knee once and had to go to the doctor, am still carrying the scar. If only I would have had a roadrunner!

Interesting about the RR meat and boils. Funny the 'Old Wives Tales' that work like a charm.
I have only seen a couple Roadrunners, but I sure enjoyed them. To an Easterner, it was a treat.
