I used to have to decorate with plastic rabbits. Good grief I've always heard the expression multiplying like rabbits. Now I know it's true. They are all over the ranch and mostly close to the farm house but only Hopper is tame enough to come near me. He was sitting and waiting patiently this morning. We had chores to do from the big water. A railroad used to run on the property next to the farm-to-market road and there are still some railroad ties in places. One had washed down stream just barely clearing one of the little roads so John loaded it and moved it to a higher location. You could work up a sweat without doing anything with the high humidity. Lots of water in the dry creek bed. I saw one of my Red Slider turtles in the creek all alone so I called to it and it swam toward me. I just happen to have some cat food in the truck so I fed it. I don't know if it washed down or if it was trying to run away from home. I had a long talk with it while it was eating. All is well and green so John may stop burning pear.

hooray for good rains! we only had 1/4 inch here. i was really looking forward to a whole lot more this week!
We have been dry the past two weeks. April and early May were really wet but lately it's been rather arid. We need a good soakin' :)
Have a great weekend Paula!!
Awww, you got to feed a turtle and talk to it? And it came to you when you called it? So sweet! :)
Your picture reminds me of a scene that greeted my eyes as I stepped out on the front porch one morning: I had an old galvanized wash tub sitting near the back door, filled with pansies, and a real live cottontail rabbit was sitting in it, eating them. I was so angry I got the .22 and shot it.
The animals truly love your voice. I believe animals know when one is a threat and not. You must have a knack like Dr Doolittle.
Glad y'all got the rain. We had a frog strangler last evening ourselves.

Poor little turtle all alone.
I do not know why any thing would run from you. You spoil everything from turtles to rabbits.
You are a rabbit whisperer!
