My Name Is Paula And I Have Boot Clostophobia

I love the look of boots and I have several pair that have a reserved space in the closet, (note to self--donate them to Goodwill). I've had several MRI's and always managed to do it without the calming pill they offer. I've learned to keep my eyes closed so I don't realize I'm in a tight space. I pray a lot and ask the tech. to inform me when I'm half through so I know I'm on the down hill swing and can manage this. Something about boots make me feel tied down, a little like when a dentist has his hands in your mouth and you feel our of control of your own body. A few years ago one of my daughters bought me a pretty pair of flowered rubber boots to walk on the tank dam to feed the turtles when it was muddy. I soon learned they were too heavy for my old legs and doubly so, when they were caked with mud. Yesterday I wanted to walk in the tall grass to check my tomato plants and knowing how chiggers love me I had the idea they couldn't reach me in those tall rubber boots. Just walking around the corner of the house in them made me feel weak and it's a shame, they are so pretty. I sat inside the door struggling to get them off. The first one came off fairly easy but she second one made me feel like I was going to be like that rhyme about one shoe off and one shoe on for the rest of my life. By the time I got the second one off I was pale and weak. I'm country, but I don't want to be buried with my boots on.

The boots sound pretty. But I know exactly what you mean about getting the things on and off. It's a terrible feeling, indeed when one gets stuck. Glad you were finally able to put your feet up, without them on.

That's a great photo on your header. I always wonder how they were able to wash those beautiful dresses.

I've always loved boots. I even used to wear them in California when I was a Hollywood faux cowboy. It is a big problem trying to get them off, however - especially if you wear the high ones like I do.

Sounds like those boots are a burden if they'r that heavy. Do they make ones any lighter? Probably not though if they're the rubber kind. I have never wore boots before. Well unless you count snow boots!

Love the puss n boots graphic! It's hard getting older, isn't it? I'm a barefoot gal. I can't wait for the end of the workday to come in and take my shoes and bra off. I feel all chained up with those things on.

The great grandmother was a beautiful lady.Love that dress, from the looks of her hair with the flowers band it might have been her wedding day. I used to wear different kinda of boots with those western skirts and loved them. I doubt if I could get boots off now myself.Since I can't bend over Ken puts my socks on sometimes.

That's a shame they're a burden.

Around my home, it's TYING shoes that get us in a tizzy....but it's from the belly overhang.

Boy am I glad I came back to see what I missed. I think rubber boots are the hardest to get off, I dislike them, but they are good for their purpose.

In the 3rd grade I was in a play called one shoe on and one shoe off. (smile) It must have featured the rhyme...
