This raggedy old man has no brain, he stands in the sun or in the rain.
His clothes are tattered and the colors vary. He is made to scare birds, they don't tary.
His arms are straight with fingers pointing down. He watches the garden not making a sound.
You hardly ever see one that is really fat, a pipe in his mouth and he's wearing a hat.
Made of straw with nothing inside. baggy old clothes to make him wide.
One foot propped on the other knee, his job is to make birds want to flee.
Who is this man called scarescrow? He is a country man we all know.
He stands on guard and never gets tired. His pay is zero, no chance of getting fired.
The birds don't know he isn't really real, he is just the garden guardian of the field.

Most of the birds I know aren't fooled by a scarecrow. Missouri birds are smart! ROFL.
Too Cute! Hope things are going well for you, John, and his daughter. Janie
Kind of like me on a good day!
I want a scarecrow for my garden! This is lovely Paula :-)
Cute little diddie :o)
They have this scarecrow sitting in our office at work as a fall decoration. It sits across from my desk right were I can see it out of the corner of my eye. It always feels like someone is watching me and sometimes I think it's someone standing there at first glance. I'm about to move the thing myself lol.
*M*
Loved it. We have a couple of scarecrows around here at the moment. Ploughing and planting is a bit behind because of the terrible weather we have been having.
A village not too far from us has a scarecrow competion every September. You drive through and there's scarecrows everywhere. It's lovely.
Have a good Saturday.
Hugsxx
