Happy Halloween

Well Halloween has almost come and gone again. We didn't have near as many trick or treaters as in the past. Probably because Cowboy Fellowship had a big party at the park in the next town over. They were giving free food, booths, two bands etc. Everything was free and over at nine to try to keep children out of trouble and to keep accidents from happening to them. I didn't know what trick or treating was until a family moved to our small town from Ohio. The lady took a bunch of us girls as a group to the owners houses of the hardware store. They were two brothers and their houses were adjoined by a porch. It was a surprise and they were unprepared. All they had to give us was a small glass of apple cider each. I had never drank apple cider and I thought my mama was going to be mad because I drank liquor. lol Was I ever a county hick kid? Wouldn't my mama turn over in her grave at how I have "come out"? We could always expect an outhouse in front of the post office the day after Halloween. It was just like a small town rule. Then one year the high school boys put an old wagon on top of the school auditorium. How they accomplished that feat I have no idea. Good night and hope your Halloween was safe.

I closed up the front hoping I wouldn't have
any little gobblins. We don't have many children close. I have worked on this computer all afternoon. I am about ready to
take a hammer to it. I worked on one getting the hard drive out. They said don't get rid of one until you destroy the hard drive. Well I destroyed the whole computer. I had a blast. I used every tool I had and them some.
Jack took pictures and said if anyone needed
their computer worked call Shirl BR-549.

Gary bought soooo much candy! He loves to hand out candy to the little ones. We went to my step-dad's and not enough kids knocked on the door. :( The grandkids will have lots of candy!! I lived in the country and didn't go out for Halloween. Really didn't know what it was. The boys in my hometown use to like to pick up Volswagons and put them on someone's porch. lol Glad you had a good evening. Janie

Hi Paula...no tricks or treaters here...I had some items to give out...pencils...spiders...etc...so I won't have alot of candy left behind...but am sure the grandson (who is with his other grandparents this week end) will do ok...now my job will be to squirrel away most of the candy...dental bills are high enough without helping the cause...LOL...hugs and God Bless...Ora

I didn't realize that there are places where kids don't go trick or treating! It's not as common anymore, but when I was a kid, everyone did it. We live out in the country, so in 6 years of living here, we've never gotten one single kid here!

I had a good time with the kiddies (and lot's of them) this year. I'd like to have some warm apple cider. That sounds so good.
Hugs, Joyce

my parents used to take us to the rich neighborhoods to get more candy. I remember having a large paper grocery bag full. then when we were older we'd go out on our own, but we had to be in before 9 or the naughty kids would be out throwing eggs.

It seems to me trick or treating is dying out. Most people I know with kids take them to friends or relatives. It's a shame, I remember what fun we had trick or treating when I was little.
