I Can Wear Yellow If I Want To

John and I decided to run into San Antonio today. John always corrects me when I use this expression run somewhere. He says I should walk or drive. We go right into the area I lived in and am so familiar with. We are driving along pointing and saying to each other look what they built there, look whats going into the building where so and so use to be. I look into my rearview mirrow and wonder what the people behind us are thinking with us pointing and talking mile a minute. I say look at us John we are acting just like country come to town. Oh we are country come to town. We went to our favorite thrift store where we as senior citizens can get 25% off anything on Monday or Wednesday. I hit the jackpot on V.C. Andrews books. A whole row of them but did I have my list of what I have read with me? Oh no, so I had to try to remember and only bought four. Found two of the little bird houses I like and I bought a plastic toy turtle. Not for grandkids, for me. It is hollowed out on top and I'm going to plant something in it. John found me down the isle and he was holding up a bright yellow tee shirt. He said will this fit you? I was kinda shocked 'cause my mama told me when I was a little girl that I don't look good in yellow. On closer inspection it had a blue Texas emblem and two blue bonnets on the front. He said if it will fit you I will buy it for you. Oh heck I thought don't look a gift horse in the mouth. My mama has been gone for years, I can wear yellow if I want to.

Sherry was reading your this entry and sid Paula is like us, she has a list of books she has read.
I started reading so late in life, and read so fast, I can't keep up. So many books so little time HA! There are times that I enjoy a V. C. Andrews. I treat it like a good cowboy book. My fun books.
Good entry,
Jack

Sounds like you had a good time! I had a dress when I was much much (one more) much younger that was white with big yellow roses all over and everytime I wore it my grandad would sing "she's the yellow rose of Texas!"
Wear the yellow tee. Proudly!
Had to laugh at Donna's comment, she's finding out her mom was wrong about several things!

Paula mother didn't want me to wear red because my hair was strawberry blonde. Wear
anything you want even different color socks
if you want to and put yellow ribbons in your
hair. You are to funny. Love the boots on the fence. Just love your entries.
