Happy New Year

Wishing everyone here a very Happy New Year. It isn't nine o'clock yet and I'm hearing fireworks in the distance already. I think we are the only county around here that is allowing them because of the dry parched land. Some county I heard is permitted to sell them but people will be fined if caught setting them off. Does that make sense? The reason being firework stand propietors threatening lawsuits. Oh my what next? I suspect a lot of people will come here to buy and shoot their fireworks. Just hope there will be no serious fires as a result. We were invited to a party across the street but my back isn't in the mood so here I sit eating garlic toast and drinking caffeine free Dr. Pepper. Oh well I won't be kissing anyone under the mistletoe. John has already skipped off to bed. Again I hope everyone has a wonderful year 2009.

I see John is a real party animal. Sorry about your back. Mine has been holding up fairly well (even without that second injection). I just took my shower so I will greet the new year all clean and shiny. Well, clean anyway. Happy New Year Paula.

Don't feel bad, Doug has been in bed for the past hour or so and the dogs are laying around snoring so it's quite a snooze fest here as well. I've heard gun shots all night so the people around here are all geared up for midnight. Enjoy the Dr...and Happy New Year!!!

I started hearing fireworks as soon as it started getting a little dark. Still hearing a few. Guess there will be a few big booms at midnight as usual. Happy New Year to You and John. Helen

Oh, well, I had planned to play games with Hannah all night....but her and Pete walked up through the pipeline to his brother's house where they were partying for the New Year and didn't come home until after midnight. So I ended up updating my Windows Media Player playlist and copying it to CD to take to work.....and then I watched a crazy movie "Nurse Betty". Hope you and John have a wonderful year!

So you are alone and wishing us a happy New Year. Well, the same to you, my dear, I have enjoyed your country tales and hope you will have many more for us in the coming year. Happy New Year to your cows, too! Gerry

Nothing wrong with starting a new year like that. I watched tv and heard the party going full blast across from me at my cousin's house. I was invited but like you, I prefer any comfort I can get. Let them soak up all that bonfire smoke and beer. I didn't even have a beer in the house much less anything else. I'm too lazy to go to the liquor store that's only 18 miles away. Have a great day and new year :).........

I hope your back mends soon. Nothing like back pain to take you down. Fireworks are illegal here in Georgia, but everyone goes right over the Alabama line and stocks up. We didnt get any for New Years, we always get them for July 4th. Too wet and too cold around this time of year to sit out and enjoy any fireworks. Hope you had a Happy New Year, even if John was already gone off to bed. ;) Hugs, Kelly
