I cried today and I didn't even look back when I dropped my winter basic black dress into the donation bin. Well it didn't look quite like this picture and I didn't look quite like the lady in this picture but I loved that dress. I could dress it up or down with collars, jewelry, scarves, or a vest suited to the occasion. Seems all our nice young neighbors think we are the old couple who needs cookies and candy for Christmas. Since I'm still growing, when I put my basic black on to go to a party it was TIGHT. I'm still going to Curves but I haven't lost a pound. Go three times a week and haven't missed a week going there. They are even starting a nutrition class. The first time they tell me chocolate isn't nutritous I'm out of there so facing reality for the New Year I donated my winter basic black. I love a new year so I'm facing reality. I even sprayed our garage with old cologne. Better there then on me and I feel it didn't go to waste.

Oh Paula ,you are still growing lol ...love Jan xx
I know how you feel, I've cried many a tears trying on what I thought was just a few pounds away and yet years later I'm still a few pounds away. Hoping your New Year brings back the "Winter Basic Black". Take care and enjoy,
Katie
I cried today too the dog ate my last cookie!
Damn dog!
I have several outfits I need to donate that I have kept thinking I would lose a few pounds and wear again. No such luck though. Old perfumes I need to dump also since they now tear my sinuses up. Good luck to you. Helen
I am ready to cry. I want to donate my WHOLE closet! BUT first I want to LOSE the weight! LOL. I have been thinking of curves myself. Mainly because I want some CURVES, the Marilyn Monroe kind!
You shouldn't have gave it away but made a New Years resolution to fit back into it! LOL
((HUGS)))
*M*
I need to lose so much weight that I don't even want to think about it. But to put things in perspective...just strive to be in good health! Hope you have a good new year.

carlene
I gave up my little black dress years ago! LOL
Have a good week!
Oh Paula...I gave up my "basic black dress" years ago...years and years agoooooooo LOLOL...and I don't remember crying...but sure I was sad...I really don't have a need for that little black jobby now anyway..I am more the full flowing duster...letting it all hang loose type now hahahahahahha!!!! and so sorry about john and the dog...glad it was no worse...and your Chistmas pic is cute hehehe!!! God Bless this coming new year..hugs..Ora
I am still laughing at you're still growing! That is so cute ~ I may have to borrow that one.
A sad fairwell to the little black dress. Well at least you aren't one of those people who try to jam themselves into something too small. Like some men who's bellies stick out and pull the buttons tight on their shirts - if they sneeze the buttons go a flyin'. LOL.
Oh I must go into my closet and fine mine and
try it own. Of course we are still growing.
Blue jeans looks so wonderful all the time,
Finds some black ones and a good top and just
let it all hang out. That is the only thing
to do when we are still growing.

I'm to the point in my life when I know that when the handsome young boys are extra courteous and kind they are doing so because I remind them of their mother/grandmother.....not because I am hot. :oP
I'm always late. John got bit by a PIT, and you gave your dress away! Wow in just two entries!
I think Sherry feels the same as you about chocolate. BUT someone expecting to have folks return and continue as customers, will NEVER say "chocolate ain't good for you!" LOL!
Great entries as always!
Jack
LOL Too funny! I went through my clothes one time and need to do it again. I think I have gained about 5 pounds through Thanksgiving & Christmas. I don't even bother getting on the scales... just go by my clothes. lol Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you a wonderful New Year. Blessings and prayers, Janie
I swear...nobody's gonna let me forget my down fall under the miserablest low down femalest trick ever to be played on man. She had meanly wore one them basic totally feminine little black dress's in navy-blue on our first dinner-dance date. She was so beautiful, taking my breath so far away, I actually heard my heart beat. Unknowingly I was already in love with her for a whole week. At that moment I was speechless, dumbfounded and surely lost forever in her heart. There was no turning (sniff) back.
Please don't say the D word out loud. My daughter, a couple of friends and I are going to give it a whirl starting next week. By next week I don't think I will fit through the door to go for a walk.
Hugs, Joyce
Still growing lol. Tis the season to grow. You can buy any dress you want, brand new, as curves starts to work.......and it will.
~Mary

I often cry when my favorite dresses no longer fit. I know it is not me. I think my stuff shrinks in the closet.

I hear you I am still trying to loose last winters weight! ~Kim
I do think tears are called for when you have to send a beautiful black basic dress on its way. When I think of black basic dress I think of one I helped my sister find. We scoured all the shops where we lived, and we find a perfect one for her, best one she ever owned. I don't know what happened to it, but I know she got her moneys worth wearing that dress. She never looked anything but sensational in it, and mine was a black velvet sheath ($100 of my dad's hard earned money) I was going to keep it forever so stored it in my sister's hope chest. Her husband got mad when she kicked him out and burned this cedar chest in the backyard, and I know my dress up with it! I was going to save it for my daughter. Oh, there are lots of tales about perfect black dresses. Gerry
Dont give up. Usually when you start working out you may not lose weight but lose inches, as the fat turns to muscle. Happy New Year you can do it!
