Ranching Before Daylight

Actually we were eating potato and egg tacos on the tank dam. Sprinkling on some chopped onions and drizzling on some picante sauce. Hoping to spot a deer or two coming to drink water. They may have gotten a whiff of the onion and pepper and headed another direction. Oh well such is life. We checked the sweetlik tubs and the hay and headed back to town. The fog was so thick we couldn't see and there are always those idiots who will not turn on their lights. I was thankful to arrive home and refused to go out on the highway with John to buy feed when he could have waited an hour for the fog to lift. He drove there only to find they only had one tub left due to the holidays and so many people having to feed. So tomorrow we'll be haying. John is talking of buying five more cows. That man likes to buy cows like women like to buy clothes. I hope the farm house doesn't burn down tonight. We went back out late this afternoon and the young renter was gathering wood to build a fire. He had a fire New Year's eve and it was sooo close to the house. He also bragged about having a little too much to drink. I think he has a little too much to drink every week-end. I told John we should crash the birthday party they are giving for a young man friend. I bet the woods are singing. Not my rent property, not my business and they are lucky for that.

Hope they didn't catch anything on fire! Down the road from us we saw where there was a fire. The nut next to us; no one lives there and really scared someone might thro out a cig and catch his prairie hay on fire next to our place! Saw some lights over there a couple of nights?? It is up for sale. Wonder who will buy it this time?? lol Have a great week. Hugs, Janie

John should have waited until that fog lifted to be out driving. You are right about people driving around without lites when they should be on. I would have to be property owners for renters at this age and time. Helen

Good morning, Paula. I made an egg and hashbrown taco the other morning. Really good. Isn't it way to dry in your area to be burning like that? I know we don't burn just any time here when it's dry :)........

Fires and drinking are not a very good mix. I hope it turns out OK. But, like you said, not your property. And I think Paula loves the cows as much as John does. lol.
Hugs, Joyce

Hmmmm...a precariously placed fire is not good at all. I hope they moved the fire spot over a bit away from the house. Maybe before they started partying they thought to do that. I sure hope so. Kelly
