Land Being Transferred Today

Thats what John calls it when the wind is blowing so hard the sand is blowing across the road from one property to the other. The native plants are blooming, we're having hot days already. Everything is ugly and pitiful. Tanks are starting to go dry and the cows are looking hippy even though they are being fed. John counted his babies and he has 16. We had company from west texas yesterday. They are visiting in san antonio and drove down here to spend a few hours with us. I took them to a good barbeque place for lunch. All decorated in country stuff and picnic tables to eat on. Then we went to the antique mall in the next town over. Just like a country business to call it a mall when its just part of a building with areas for people to sell on consignment. They loved it and bought an old doll and an old salt and pepper shaker set for her collections. They were impressed by our court house. It is a pretty old building. They ask about John's cow that I named Unique because she looks odd. I had to tell them she has been sold along with about 70 others. Jim will retire soon so they plan to come down more often and we will drive to show them the historical church where we attend. Joyce and I were married to brothers at one time. Her marriage ended in divorce and mine with death but we have remained close friends thanks to internet.

I love John's saying for when the wind blows that strong, how fitting. It's wonderful you and Joyce continued to remain friends after everything. I would of loved seeing the cosignment sellers in the single building. It's such a warm atmosphere surrounded by antiques. (Hugs)Indigo

Catchy titale to the blog entry. I thought John was selling out again! LOL
It is great for friends to visit. Our trip back to NC will cause us to miss good friends who are traveling from PA to FL this month.
Does the wind ever blow the opposite direction to transfer the land back?
Jack

Glad you had your friends visit. The older we get the more we want to see our old friends. I am sorry Unique is no longer there. Show your friends the two babies.

Awww that sounds great that you are still friends. My mother was still friends with her ex-sister-in-laws after her and daddy got divorced. Friends for years. Sounds like you had fun. It is so dry here!! Bad! Fire could start really easy now. Hope you have a great week. Janie
