Can Mother Nature Be Trusted?

The weather men are promising us rain. They convinced me to the point I took our giant rain gage (I don't know how to spell that word) and emptied the yucky green stuff out and cleaned it. How would I know how to spell that word when we haven't used it in so long. They say it is going to get cool again too around noon tomorrow. I haven't even worn a fourth of my winter clothes. I think here in south Texas they should design houses with double closets so we can always leave all our clothes out. One day you wear shorts and the next maybe a jacket. Some people wear shorts and a jacket at the same time. You learn how to be prepared. It was perfect yard working weather today. I ignored the fact that I just got over bronchitis and worked for several hours yesterday and today. The man who was supposed to come trim my yucca plants again didn't show. That is what I don't like about this small town, hard to get anyone to do little odd jobs. Oh well I did it myself. I didn't need his little ole saw on a long pole. I just crawled under the plant and used my clippers. I'm pretty proud of myself but verrrry tired.

I don't believe weather people. I wish the
rain we are getting tomorrow would come your
way. I am tired of it being wet all the time.

Same way here 70's, 40', snow, rain, and now
back to 70's and rain. I have done a little yard work. POO don't like yard anymore I am
getting to old.

I know what you mean. When we came home at Christmas we always had to bring twice as many clothes as summer, because you didn't know if it was going to be cold or warm. I saw on a weather forecast that San Antonio had a chance of rain for almost a week, I wondered if you guys would get any rain. Maybe you will, Sheila

In the motorhome we keep mostly lightweight clothes. We used to keep a warm suit for fishing, ut since se don't fish much, those are gone. Spring and Fall weather is always hard to figure. Every year it seems to have surprises.
I read the title of the entry wrong, I thought it said, 'can you trust your mother', I thought it was going tobe a story about the two cow sisters sharing the calves.
Congratulations on the Yucca Cutta! YOu B smart!

We hit a high of 80 yesterday (which was a record from 79 degrees in 1897). Tonight low is supposed to be 50 and tomorrow's high is 50. Now, who is playing these tricks on us???

I hope you dodn't set off that bronchitis again. The pollen count is high here. It's spelled Gauge. Yours sounds as good though. Hope you get that rain. Helen

We had 1 1/2 inch of rain in the gauge yesterday. Then had to dump it and turn it upside down because it was to get in the teens overnight.

Yep, this springlike weather, you can hardly contain yourself and have to get outside and do stuff. That is what I did all weekend this past weekend, and I am sore from it. My body wasnt used to all that manual labor...got to ease into it I reckon. Glad you got that yucca plant done up. Hugs, Kelly

Hi Paula,

I sure hope you get that much needed rain! Our weather here is crazy too it was 60 all weekend and snowing Monday. That huge closet for all your clothes sounds like a great idea.

Weather in Kansas has been very strange. Hot one day and freezing rear off the next! lol I always plan it getting warmer around Easter time. Usually Easter day the kids have green grass to go egg hunting. We just have to worry about a rain storm on Easter Day. lol Hope you have a blessed day. Janie

Ouch, I hope you did not pay for this excessive bust of energy. The clothes problem sounds like Phoenix. I get dizzy from holding out my hand and feeling the air trying to determine whether I need to wear a sweater or go sleeveless. The temp has really gone up and down this winter. And if I get too warm I start to sneeze. I am allergic to temp change. If you get on the bus you will see a lot of confused people, some with heavy coats and others with strapless sun dresses!

Well you got your exercise trimming that plant today. Good for you. I didn't get out and exercise at all today.

Same here about finding any kind of help. I do have all my clothes available in a walk-in closet year round. My part of Texas is about the same as your part. BTW it's spelled "guage". LOL
