Early Birds

It was dark this morning and was still dark when we got to the ranch. We had to eat our taco with the cab light on. Darn they gave us green sauce instead of red and is that stuff hot. We took a whole bag of cat food for Miss Kitty to put in the grain tank so we can feed her everytime we go out. As we drove up we saw a beautiful solid white cat chasing her. A tom I presume, and where did he come from? There are no houses close by. One maybe a mile away. Those tom cats can travel. Unless of course the renters brought it out, but don't think so. Two of renters big dogs got out and chased the white cat so Miss Kitty had time to eat as John wouldn't let the dogs come out to the pens. There was no damage from the storm and looked to be about an inch and a half of rain and is it appreciated. The cows look none the worse for wear. We did find one old cow who had trouble getting up so John's daughter is going to put her in the pen so they can give her some extra feed. To Barb who ask about the dominoes: This group playes "84". They play with two sets of dominoes. No chicken foot or train for these guys and they take their dominoes seriously. Too seriously for me. A game is a game and whoever wins so be it.

Paula I do hate the dark mornings ~ Hope Miss Kitty will be OK ~ and that White Tom does not catch up with her ~ glad there wasn't any storm damage ~ I agree about "A game is a game and whoever wins so be it" some people do take it too seriously ~ Ally x

Yep them /Tom Cats travel. Glad there was no damage and miss Kitty got to eat in peace. That was a lot of rain, hope it helps. I don't know dominoes, except to stand them up and push them over. But I too think a game is a game, can't see taking it very seriously. (especially when I am not good at the game. LOL)

Hi Paula,

Glad you got much needed rain and there was no damage. Maybe Miss Kitty came home because she is hiding from Mr.Tom? I bet that green sauce woke you up! I hope you have a nice weekend.

My dogs will chase off stray cats. My cats love my dogs. hehe They will come up on the porch and let the dogs know there is something out there in the dark. Glad John's daugher is going to give her more food. The vet told us that their teeth wear off around the age of 9. :( Hope you guys have a good day.. I would have thrown those tacos out... can not eat anything hot !!! Janie

I'm glad you had no damage from the storm. It's been storming here the last couple of days and it is supposed to continue through Saturday. Have a great weekend, Sheila

OUCH! Bet that was a hot breakfast. Glad that you got some much needed rain. Maybe that white cat will be afraid to come back now and will leave miss Kitty alone. I hope that cow will be ok. Helen

I am glad you got some rain. I don't like
it when they get your order wrong and you are
not close to tell them. I's glad Tom didn't
catch Miss Kitty and she got to eat in peace.
You both were really early birds.

It has been many years since I played dominoes but it really is a fun game. Like you, I never took it seriously. We dodged the bullet yesterday eve when the weather got really bad with tornadoes spotted north of us. I had flashlight in hand even if it was only 5pm. It barely missed us & all we got was some rain :)

This entry reminds me of watching two ladies play scrabble every day and I looked on the board and discovered every single word was mispelled or had other letters added to it. The one lady wanted to play with the other one so badly that she just let her set the rules! People play dominoes out under our trees, two ladies both born in Germany but now one is too sick to come out there anymore. I swear you can sure make a trip out in the country interesting, and I am so glad it rained!
