This is javalinas for those who ask what they are. This picture was not taken at the ranch. I could never get this near them there. This picture was taken at a state park south of here. At one time we were allowed to feed the wild animals. Feeding is no longer allowed. See how thin they are and they were eating well. We went out to check no name's calf. It has calmed down some. John put one of the girl friend cows in with the calf hoping it will nurse. The other girl friend is still feeding her's and her girlfriend's calf so hopefully all calves will get enough milk. When John put the cow into the pen with hay the little baby saw the cow eating hay and he went over and started eating hay too. Miss Kitty was still around. I took her some cat food. She seems to be very afraid of the cattle. She would take a bite and then look around. I'm thinking she has been stepped on before and it hurt. I also took some old bread to feed the cat fish renter guy said he put into the cattle tank. We didn't see anything bite on the bread.

Sure is alot of animals to feed
I hope the baby calf makes it. Something happened to the kitty for it to be gone so long and it is so afraid now. Those javalinas look like they would get a baby calf if it were close by. Helen
I do hope the baby calf survives ~ thanks for the picture I did wonder what javalinas looked like ~ Ally x
The javalinas look so primitive. I hope the calf will be alright and fit in with the new cow mom. The other baby being around hopefully will help.
hoping the calf makes it!
yep, that javalinas ok, i remember them.
have a lovely wkend.
huggies...
Thanks for showing a picture of Javelina's they are kinda cute. I hope the little calf does alright, and I am glad Ms. Kitty is home even if she is a little nervous. Hope your weekend is nice.
Drama of the calf. Hope it does well. Thanks for the picture of the Javelina's. They do look sorta primative as Kelly said. Do they do the damage like the wild hogs? They sure have a nose for rooting.

I've seen pictures of these animals before. Are they mean?
Thanks for the picture Paula. Odd looking little creatures but kinda cute too. I had no idea what they were. Poor Miss Kitty. Don't you wonder where she's been. I hope the calf makes it. I wonder if No-Name got snake bitten (since you said the snakes were out).
Hugs, Joyce
Javelina ...what a pretty name ,love to hear about all your animal friends Paula ..love Jan xx
I hope the Mama cow helps the no name calf. Poor kitty, no telling what happened to her while she was gone. But then again maybe she's just being extra cautious. Have a great weekend, Sheila
Hi Paula! Just stopping by for a quick hello. Thanks for stopping by to visit. I'll be back to regular blogging sooner or later. I hope all is well in your world. Hugs, Martha

If the baby calf is not eating I will send a
large bottle and nipple so you can feed it.
But that might make the others jealous. I do hope she will be OK. It is sad to loose your mother. The Javelina look mean.

Hope that both little calves get enough milk. They are so cute when little. Sure good of that mamma cow to feed that little one. :) Must be a pretty nice cow. Hope you and John have a blessed Sunday. Janie
God bless you for taking care of so many animals Paula!
My son Gary sees javelinas occasionally from his back yard which is part of South Mountain foothills. My SIL runs out in the desert terrain by his house, and reported another runner being chased by a javelina! I guess he thought he had all he could take of people intruders in his back yard. My BIL's sister was given three baby javelinas to raise whose mother was shot. Her boys just loved them. I need to find out more about that story so I can tell you, as I know you would appreciate it!
THANKS PAULA FOR POSTING THIS PICTURE. THEY LOOK LIKE LITTLE PIGS!
LOVE,
CARLENE
I'm so glad Miss Kitty came home and is okay.
