Hope You're Earth Day Was A Green One

Hope everyone celebrated Earth Day by doing something toward saving our earth. I put out newspaper, magazines, plastic, and cans for the recycle truck. John and Joe was able to get the hot water heater installed in record time. When Joe and his wife left they were going by Mama Mary's to check on she and her husband. As soon as they left Joe's kids called looking for them. Said they needed to call home as soon as possible so me being a mother and grandmother visioned cuts, abrasions, broken legs, ambulances, house on fire. Did I think to ask if anyone was hurt? No I jumped into my truck and raced to Mama Mary's house. They were all sitting under the big oak tree visiting. It was just a brother-in-law there looking for Joe. The store is taking the hot water heater back as it has not been in the house a year so it will be their responsibility to dispose of it properly.

LOL Paula. I would have done the same thing. Don't make it sound like an emergency if you don't want me running toward you. Glad you got the water heater installed quickly.

Do buying tomato plants count on Earth Day? I will be growing my own tomatoes...therefore saving a plastic grocery bag...saving car gas going to buy them...saving energy from the electic register...etc??? lol Hate to admit it, but earth day passed me by and I didn't know about it!

Glad that they got that hot water fixed. I would have done the same thing you did about seeing that someone got what you thought was much needed help. Helen

Thinking the house was on fire. Yup, that used to be me. I used to give people money because they looked frantic & would say it was an emergency until one day my Dad said to me: I want you to help people whenever you can but when some people say "emergency" they mean they need a bottle of whiskey. ~Mary

Hi Paula,

I am glad everything was alright, I would of rushed over there too. I tried to leave all my lights off yesterday until I had to cook dinner, and I am saving all my newspapers/flyers paper for the recycle guy. Where is that picture you have posted on the top of your blog, it is simply beautiful. Enjoy your day :)

Paula it sounds like you were in the Earth Day spirit. I've made some changes for earth day and I plan on keeping them. I've read alot of your past entries since it's been so long since I've visited. Sounds like you had some excitement with the poor woman being abused right before your eyes - how awful. And...I really could use one of those dammit dolls ~ dusty or not!!! LOL. It was a nice break to catch up on what I've missed and I'm glad the water heater is squared away even with the directions fiasco at first ;)
take good care.

My imagination would have run wild, too! Glad there was no emergency though. Hope the new water heater lasts longer than the old one!

I worked in the yard and planted my small
garden. Does that count? I alway try. We
all think something has happened when someone calls and say "call ASAP".
