No I didn't find out what they are but I did talk to someone about them that has seen them too. I have racked my brain as to who might know something or even noticed them. Got to remember they are beside a busy highway going from san antonio to corpus christi. People have their mind on the coast, fishing etc. Or they are on their way home after fishing or business, so people are not likely to even notice them. It dawned on me that John's ex-daughter-in-law works at the Water Conservation office and the F.S.C. office is in the same building. People who farm and ranch have occasion to go into these two offices for varies reasons. She just might know something or have heard something. I took my picture to her and ask if she has seen them and she said yes but she has no idea what they are. She agrees with me that they are new and not left there from anything old and why would there be several sets of them scattered around in an open field. She also agrees that they don't seem to be tombstones so she said she will ask around. She also suggested I just go on to the building near the columns and ask questions. We laughingly agreed that I could tell them I am writing an article for our little local paper. Guess I better not do that. I'll jog her memory again later if she doesn't tell me what all the co-workers say about it.
