Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Fruit Basket Turn Over
Me and my bag mouth. I remember the game now lets see if I remember how to play it. If I'm wrong I bet someone will correct me. There has to be several corners and this building had eight in front. Each person claims a corner and one person is "it". Someone whispers the name of a fruit to each person. The person who is "it" yells for example banana and orange change places. "It" does not know which two are going to be changing corners but "it' wants to grab someone's corner. If "it" can grab a corner then the person who had that corner is "it" and does the samething. Sometime "it" will yell fruit basket turn over and everyone has to leave their corner and try to claim another without "it" getting a corner. Silly but fun for kids back then.

I don't remember that game.
That kinda reminds me of the corner game we would play at the skating rink minus yelling gout the names of fruits.
*HUGS*
More kids need to be outside playing now instaed of watching tv...We use to play games and use our imagination...something kids tend to lack now days...
love ya,
carlene
I love it...I was so worried fruit was being thrown at one another...you know you Texans are tough.....lol thx for sharing!
LOL at Cindi's comment, goofy! That sounds like a wonderful game! I would of been right in there with the flying fruit words, LOL.
we use to play something like that when I was younger.

I didn't play fruit basket, but I did play someething called "Andi I Over." I never did know what Andi meant but we would throw a ball over the school house and if they caught it the other side could come and tag us. I loved running games because I wasa fast in those days. For a few years. Gerry
I never played that one but it sounds like fun. Do kids even play the same games we did as kids with all this technology they have now?
We played "upset the fruit basket" in my one-room school on rainy days. Thanks for reminding me.
Cute
I had never heard of that, but it sounds like a great version of tag and one that we would have played when we were kids if we'd known of it.
We played a similar game called "Kitty in a Corner". It didn't involve fruit names - the "kitties" would motion to each other behind the back of "it", and change corners randomly, sometimes several at once.
