One More Turtle

Well actually its a lot more turtles but I'm going to almost promise not to write about them anymore. John said he was tired and he has seen turtles all his life and he didn't want to go with me. So I drove and wasted expensive gas alone. Well you know some grandmas play bingo (no offence grandmas who play bingo) but this grandma feeds turtles. They were waiting for me when I drove onto the tank dam. I could see heads sticking out of the water everywhere. When I got out of the truck some of them met me at the edge of the water. The purpose of this entry is to say my turtles are nice turtles. I wore heavy shoes with closed in toes so I didn't feel threatened. I sat on a big hump of dirt and some of them did come up to my shoe and didn't try to bit at all. If there was food there they would grab it and head back to the water. If they didn't find any food they would head back. When two spotted a piece of food and was going for it one would get it first and the other would back off. They didn't fight over food. I did take some pictures but I don't know how they will come out because the turtles kind of blend in with the ground and the water.

sO YOU WENT PREPARED THIS TIME. Not gonna bite your toes. Some grandmas smoke pot, some grandmas skydive, but you are feeding the turtles. That is nice. Hey you could take up sky diving, John hasn't done that all his life. Maybe he willjoin in. OR BE GLAD TO FEED THE TURTLES! lol

That sounds like something I would like to do. Pity we do not have them over here. I do hope you are able to put on some photos.

I guess they are following the rule...don't bite the hand that feeds you...I guess in this case I should say 'toes'...I imagine it is quiet and relaxing to sit there and feed the turtles. Have a great day, Sheila

I think that is the sweetest story I have heard
lately. You and the turtles. They love you and
look forward for your visit. If you miss I know
they will wonder what happen to you. Can I send food?

Well I happen to like turtles and my philosophy is that anyone who likes turtles can't be all bad.

My son found a box turtle when he was around ten years old and we put him in our indoor 4' X 8' terrarium where he prospered for years.

You know what Paula, sometimes I wish I had a place to feed turtles ALL BY MYSELF. Where there are not alcoholic neighbors, and in this case since all the members but one were alcoholics, no they are not going away!!! 40 years and counting. The police knew the way to our house and the one next door very well. They turn their stereo up so loud in their garage where they all drink so loud that we have all windows and doors shut and the Television and we call the dispatcher he hears it and send 2 officers out. Finally told the 2 brothers and the ones bimbo if they came out one more time they would go to court and cost them 100.00 and the same for every call after. Sorry I took such a happy story about turtles and wrecked it.

That is so nice! When I was in florida I got to hold a real big snapping turtle and he was the sweetest turtle. I am glad you can feed them and enjoy it.
