Slippin' & Slidin'

God didn't forget us. We have been having rain all around the area and still a chance today and tomorrow. All total we got 3 inches at the ranch so far. Its still warm enough and no cool in sight so the grass can grow for a while before the first frost. The tank dam was way too wet for us to drive there so we walked to feed the turtles and I had to feed them on the end closest. As it was I was exhausted from walking in the mud and trying not to loose my balance. I called the turtles and some came to that end but not all. The renters little German Shepard is still small enough to get out of the yard. It always follows John around because he shares his taco with it. It started chasing the turtles when they would come out of the water. Once when the dog ran into the water it jumped high as if one of the turtles had nipped it. We have several routes we can go home. Today we passed this little cemetary which I wrote about before. The brush was covering it and someone crawled the fence and cleanned out just around the four old graves. There is a nice house to the right and farther back but I don't think the people who live there have anything to do with the graves. They just bought the property and the graves were there. I'm thinking someone just out of the goodness of their heart went in and cleanned it our of respect for the dead. I always wanted to but knew the job was too big for me. I'm a little shy about going on to someone else's property too. I'm thinking if I think ahead I could take some flowers and place on each grave. I will need John's help to hold the barbed wire apart so I don't get my clothes hung up. Will he do it or will he say I'm not standing here on the side of the road while you trespess on private property?

You are right about family for the ones in that circle in the cemetery. Some are not even named or if they are you can't read it. We had 3 graves on a corner of road by a farm we moved to and it was kind of sad because names had been scratched on Rocks and we could not read them. We used to gather wild flowers and put on there. Interesting Photo.

John should be sport and help you. Besides, aren't you curious to get close enough to read the markers? ;o)

John ain't helping you trespass! LOL
funny about the dog and turtles, I would have thought they would have just headed for the bottom or back out in the deeper part.
Glad for the rain. We have had a little too much up here in NY and the North EAst.

Glad that you are getting that rain. I think John would hold the wire open for you to put flowers on the graves and maybe you can see some names somewhere. Helen

Put a wreath outside the fence

That is a good idea Johnny G. If I can't put the flowers on each grave I can do that. I will have to wait for it to dry up. We've had beautiful rain this afternoon.

Glad you are getting some rain. We had it here today. Also glad you didn't slip and fall in the mud. Poor dog, maybe he will think twice before going after the turtles next time...ha.
Have a great weekend,
Sheila

Since I remember that John is a lot like my husband, It will depend on his mood. Maybe he will or maybe he won't. His good heart will want to but some days he is ruled by his practical head.

I think John will do it, but we all want pictures! LOL Rain would really help us out, but I can wait for a while because I am still having way to much fun in the warm weather.

I can see it now. Lady hanging from a barbed wire fence for transpassing No charges will be filed because of her good deed trying to dress-up old graves. Same Lady that was stuck in the mud and attacked by turtles. LOL

How wonderful you would consider putting flowers on those graves. Paula, you are such a good hearted soul. I bet John will help you - bat your eyes a few times if he is reluctant at first! ;)
