Oh My Goodness

I took John to his daughter's house to pick up his truck and then I went by to feed the turtles. Decided to stop and introduce myself to new renter as she (I thought) was working with "stuff" in front of the garage. The young lady told me she was the renter's son's girlfriend. I said oh thats nice you came out to help them. She said no I live here. Okkkkay! I'm busy feeding the turtles and talking to Lucy when I hear voices behind my back. When I turn its two teenage girls (one with a parrot riding on her finger) and a little girl. I introduce them to the turtles and tell them the one is named Lucy. They are intrigued but the little girl's high pitched voice is scaring the turtles back into the water. They didn't leave but they kept their distance from the water line. I let the little girl pitch in a few of the puppy morsels. I ask the teenagers if they are sisters and they said yes. I ask (I'm nosy) if the little girl is their sister and they say no she is a cousin. I ask if she lives here and they say yes and she has a two year old sister too. Okaay! When I went to school that adds up to eight. A mama, a daddy, two teenage sisters, a brother and his girlfriend and two young cousins in a two bedroom, one bath house. Not my rent property, not my business. When I had rent property I made sure I knew how many people were going to live there and they knew the rules. Oh well not my business. When I drove in there was a large dog tied to the telephone pole with a bandana tied around it's neck. I saw kittens, ducks and chickens in the back yard and one short mama dog trotting beside the girls as they came to the tank. They told me they like it out there as the neighbors couldn't complain about their chickens. John never ceases to amaze me the way he runs his rent property. He only sees the $$$$ signs. They have cleaned up around there disposing of some old appliances and they say the son is in college and one of the girls says she is going to college next year so maybe they will work out well. Who knows?

You know, I would never have thought our renters would work out as well as they have. Oh, there have been a few aggravations, but for the most part they pay the rent, mind their business, and things work out.

When I lived in my old apartment building 7 years ago. There was a korean family that lived above me. Quiet as could be. You would never know they had 13 people, 4 were kids living in that very small apt. (smaller than my apt. and I lived alone) At night they would roll out mats on the floor for everyone. (Hugs)Indigo

That is a lot of people but then again economically speaking times are so hard right now. As long as they keep things up and pay on time who cares?

I have people behind me who own the house - they have 13 grown kids and who knows how many grandkids and great grandkids - sometimes they are ALL there in their two bedroom house, tents and campers surround the house too!

All I know is that they are all good, kind, wonderful people. I let them overflow into my side yard and driveway too when necessary, but I just can't personally imagine living like that!

I didn't get in yesterday but I am so glad you keep Lucy company, one thing about Lucy, she won't talk back. Hope none of the people step on her.
