Why Is Buying A Pair Of Jeans So Complicated?

what ever happened to the day you could walk in and buy a pair of jeans and walk out? My jeans are getting faded so I decided to buy a new pair to wear when I go somewhere. Maybe I should be selling instead. The new jeans are more faded then my old ones. The new jeans are more raggedy then my old ones. There are different degrees of faded, some are more raggedy then others. There are boot cut, straight cut and some other cut which I don't remember. I tried on a pair of those lower slung jeans. Some how they didn't seem fitting for a grandma plus they felt miserable. I still don't have any new jeans so we just went to eat a taco. While we were eating our taco John was looking over my shoulder. He told me look at that guy with those jeans down around his hips. If he decided to poop in his pants he would have plenty of room.

Oh yes, I hate those faded and raggedy jeans! I have learned that I like boot cut pretty well.
LOL @ John.

Sounds as if you might as well just wear the ones you have. They sound as good as the ones on sale. I saw Sat.while walking through Walmarts what I thought was the old bell bottom ones coming back in style but maybe it was the boot cut. Whatever, they looked the same to me. Helen

Thank goodness I have never worn Jeans since I turned 60. In winter I live in sweat pants and in summer the light weight colorful 2 piece matching very light short sleeve sort of like knit blouse material. I have to have elastic since so many surgurie's.

LOL..Paula...I wear the "granny" jeans as I call them...elastic around the waist...and I am afraid I will have to agree with John...those hangy downy jeans are just atrocious...and ugly...and I wish I had the guts to wear mine like that one day...just to see the reaction on peoples faces...LOL...but then again I would probably be jailed for indecent exposure!!!! LOLOL...ya think????? hugs from Ora in KY

I like the elastic waist ones, too. And I like 'Chic' womens jeans. They are made to fit a fat ole grandma like me. LOL They still have the dark blue ones, as well as a little bit faded ones. Hope you find ones to fit, and not look like the ones John saw. Don't think those would be very good for you..........

Try Levi's regular fit. They're normally not too bad. I hate shopping for jeans because Levi sizes are 32-34-36 etc and I'm a 33.

I used to be a "10" but that was years ago.

HERE GOES GRAMPA SAM PUTTING IN HIS TWO CENTS WORTH.
'OVERHALLS'.
YES, OVERHALLS WAS THE THING WAY BACK THEN, FOR WE COUNTRY BOYS THAT IS. SOME OF THE TOWN BOYS WOULD RATHER HAVE DIED THAN BE SEEN IN OVERHALLS.

HOWEVER, THIS IS TODAY. AS RECENT AS THE MID 80s I HAVE BOUGHT OVERHALLS, REMEMBERING HOW COMFORTABLE THEY WERE WHEN A KID IN GRADE SCHOOL.THESE RECENT ONES WERE LOOSE EVERYWHERE EXCEPT IN THE SEAT. FELT LIKE SITTING ASTRADDLE OF A TIGHT ROPE.
TOOK THEM BACK AND EXCHANGED FOR NEXT LARGER SIZE. SAME OLD STORY. LOOSE EVERYWHERE EXCEPT IN THE SEAT. TOOK THEM BACK AGAIN, WEARING THEM AND ASKED THE CLERK TO WALK ALONG BEHIND AND OBSERVE THE TIGHT FIT IN ONLY THAT ONE PLACE.

THAT IS THE MODERN FASHION, THE CLERK EXPLAINED. THE PATTERNS ARE FOLLOWING THE JEANS TREND THAT HAS BECAME SO POPULAR.
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT.
JOGGING SUIT IS THE ANSWER, NO TIGHT FIT ANYWHERE EXCEPT WHEN THE 'DRAWSTRING' IS PULLED UP AND TIED ABOVE THE BELLY.

I'm very picky about my jeans. Can't stand the raggedy-looking ones! And I'm so short it really is hard to find a good-fitting pair anyway. I certainly don't want them to look like I've already worn them out.

I had to delete my first comment - it didn't make sense! I agree with you about jeans and once I find a pair I will buy several of the same since it's hard to get a pair I like. I do like the low jeans but will only wear them when I have a long sweater or shirt.
