I Think I Smell A Fish Fry

The last three times I have fed the turtles the catfish didn't come to compete with them for the bread and cat food. I vision them stretched out in the renters frying pan. I can't say too much as they may have put them in the stock tank as we had never seen fish in there before. The two new turtles are still fighting and chasing each other everytime they get near each other. John remembered Domingo saying he found two turtles and didn't think we would mind him putting them in the tank. I'm not sure about them. Their shells are more rounded and they don't have the red stripe on the side of their face. They are small so I don't know if they are young or if they don't get big. Guess we will find out. Lots of turtles came to eat late this afternoon. The old home place is slowly being torn down. Looks like they are trying to save as much lumber as they can. They are stacking it on a flat bed trailer. I tore a garage down at our rent house several years ago and if I would have been thinking clearly I could have found someone to tear it down for the lumber. Some of it was very good old lumber not like you buy now days. The first day I hired a young boy to help but then I was afraid he would get hurt as I didn't know what I was doing but I wanted it off the property as the roof had been caving in for a long time and was an eyesore. Its amazing what a widow can do when she sets her mind to it.

Sounds as if they may have put the fish in there to start with. One day they may have turtle soup if the small ones get big. Helen

It is amazing what a widow can do!! I learned it the hard way. I hope Lucy is ok. I do not want the turtles to be harmed by any odd balls they have put in there. Great pictures.

YOu should have caught them. Fresh Fried Catfish with huspuppies (hushturtles?) gotta be good.

I would never doubt that you get done what you start out to do!

There was a time when folks bought old buildings to tear down. The sold the material to people who wanted a nostalgic room in their new home.

It's amazing what a widower can do too! My dad had to learn to do all kinds of things for himself after my mom died.

Hope your pet turtles don't have to compete for their supper, with new kids in the tank.
My daughter once tore down an old, old barn, that was full of hand-hewed beams and wide lumber. The beams were sold on ebay for mucho' money to a contractor in TX and the boards went to a local craftsman that makes signs. She hated to tear it down but, like yours, it was becoming a safety hazard, dangerously collapsing. At least they profited. They made enough to make half a yrs. house payments.
We just had a whopper of a catfish fry over the weekend...good eats always.
