Three Subjects

I wonder who is buried here. The man who mows always puts the rocks back. I took this picture the last time we went to the cemetary where John's family is buried. It has been too hot for us to walk in cemetaries or explore country roads. We have to do our chores early in the morning and then hug the a/c all afternoon.
The weatherman must not know the devil because he didn't say a thing about rain in the forecast. We got a rain today while the sun was shining. That is twice this month it has rained a good rain while the sun was shining and you know what THEY say. If it rains while the sun is shining the devil is beating his wife.
I'm starting to think All You Can Eat Buffets should be against the law or else they should have a room with cots for after over eating. Then they would have to have a maid to change the linens so we don't pick up bed bugs or lice. Then that would make the food cost more. We have to drive 45 minutes home nodding all the way. Yep I know we must learn self control.

Wonder who saw the devil beat his wife? I have heard that in NC all my life.

Yep, self control is the name of the game, but I cannot have it at a buffet. I always decide to get one more thing, and come back with three (or four).

I just love the road runner on the side bar.

That is a pretty little grave. It does make you wonder who is there, doesn't it? We ate at a buffet one night last week, and I was very proud of myself for not over-indulging! (It was hard, though!)

I love buffets Paula, the thing is though they are usually when drink is around (weddings parties etc) and though I don't drink very much when I do have a couple,I am never hungry,so I tend not to overeat at them, being too full with the fluid intake.Wish I could. Grrrrrr. My guess is as good as yours about the grave, but at least someone cares and tends it,thats the main thing. As for the sunshower I read it is a well known saying in the south of USA,and in other country's a differant saying.Have a great day Paula.Take Care God Bless xx

Since that grave is all by itself makes you kinda wonder if maybe someone put their beloved pet there a long time ago. It wouldn't pay Ken and me to go to a buffet because we eat very little when we do so we tend to stay away form them. LOL on the cots and bed bugs. The saying around here is if the sun shines when it is raining it will rain the same time the next day. I don't remember if it ever does that or not. Helen

I WAS THINKING THE SAME AS MADCOBUG. We have not been to a buffet for a long time. My hands are not quite as steady but when I did go I loved it and sampled everything that looked good.

Whoever rest under that stately old tree is fortunate to share its TX shade. As for rain and sunshine, up north we always watch for the rainbow that comes at the same time., and usually a pretty spectacular one.
We love,Love,Love a good buffet. We are looking forward to the one that will be at Mels place when her daughter marries in Aug. She has raised a family of spectacular cooks and I know they are doing all of the fabulous salads and sides. I have to miss a prior meal in order to make a buffet worthwhile. Too bad I can't say my tummy is shrinking...grrr

I'd heard that one of the devil's daughters is getting married when there's rain with sun. Maybe every region of the country has their own version.

In Florida we heard..."if it rains when the sun is shinning...it will rain the same time tomorrow"....

Enjoy

It may be that no one knows the purpose of the rocks under the tree anymore......but I agree with whoever suggested it may have been a pet to a person who may rest in the cemetery proper.

I have always heard the devil beating his wife saying over on my side of Texas. ;o)

I grew up with 'when it rains and the sun is shining the devil is beating his wife', I have said it to my kids too so they will probably pass it on. Take care, Sheila

Maybe the Man who mows knows who or what is
buried there. Could be someone's pet. I also
heard when the sun is shining and it rains
the devil is beating his wife. I didn't know
the devil had a wife.

Your entry made me chuckle Pualine!! We go to a lot of buffets and my husband really likes them... which is why we go... and I really hate them and wish we would never ever go to any at all. Once a year would be fine by me. LOL.

We used to go to old cemetery's, now it is all we can do to go on Memorial day and hope the car don't break down. I like buffets but we don't eat out much. So expensive, but enjoy it more cause we consider it a luxury when we do go. I have never heard the saying about the devil.
