I've Seen Nicer Out Houses

But I have to admit someone has a sense of humor. This is a cemetary and out house I have written about before but didn't have the picture at the time. Someone said about one entry why not just step behind a tree to avoid spiders. When you are at a funeral you wouldn't really want to do that. Some of these old cemetaries doesn't have running water so therefore no flushing restroom. So many of these cemetaries are away from society so there is the chance of vandals so they keep things as simple as possible but useably.
We've been busy so no country road trips and no walking in an old cemetary. Have fed the turtles a few times but they didn't didn't do any tricks to write about. It is very hot but we haven't reached triple digits. I think the rains and clouds have been good to us. All the purple sage in yards are covered with blooms. So according to south texas lore it should rain again in about three days. I used to believe that but now I think it is just an old wives tale. We'll take the rain if it comes and enjoy the beautiful sage while it blooms.

Hmmm ... a Hilton. I wonder if they give Hilton Honors points for each visit?

I think I'd probably just hold it - or wander out a ways until I found a hedge row or something.

Ha-ha-ha!!! I can't help it! I just got this flash mental picture of all these people at a funeral, trying to be respectful and solom while doing the pee-pee dance!...Great entry(as always!)

I guess it 'depends'...
love your entry and look at that gorgeous header once again. You keep me interested in the TX way of life....plans are starting to come together for our fall trip...cannot wait to see my baby sister again and hug all the necks of our friends.
Put the ribs on and heat up a fresh batch of Holy Moly and here I come...
Wishin' you weren't another days ride away...sure would love to feed the turtles with you and ride the rough roads to find your precious pets. Will just have to keep doing that here.

I can remember the two-seater outhouse at my paternal grandmother's house, and the one at the church down the road that most of my father's family attended. I don't think they got rid of that outhouse until the 70s.

I like it, not that I'd use it :-)

We still haven't had much rain here for the summer - very unusual for us at this time of year. Everything is dried up and brown.

Hope you are having a nice summer *hugs*
