I've Been Elected Straw Boss

John flew out from San Antonio waaay before daylight to meet two sisters in Florida. From there they will drive to Georgia to visit a neice and on to Virginia to visit his brother. While gone he says I'M IT. What I say goes. You think? I just hope the farm house renters doesn't decide to have a bon-fire with all their couches and catch the grass on fire. I hope all the rattlesnakes stay holed up and I hope when I'm feeding the turtles Shelly or Butter doesn't mistake the cat food for cubes. If one of those big cows started slipping toward me and the water I would end up all slimmy and green and wouldn't be able to see where I'm going. I hope one of the pregnant cows doesn't have trouble having her calf. That just makes my stomach hurt to think about it and that calf puller makes me want to run. I'm good at spotting broken fences but fixin' them. Humm! The one job I know I can handle is to flip a bathtub off covering two tubs of molassas. Yep I always THOUGHT I wanted to be a cowgirl.

You can handle this; I'm just wondering why you didn't jump at the chance for a getaway to Florida.

I think you'll be a great boss. But I sure hope you don't have any pregnant cow emergencies.
Best,
Marty

Just put in a call, we will all come and help pull the calf, never done that before!

Is the bathtub cast iron?

You got it, now hold it in the road.

psssssst: That black on on the header is giving me the evil eye! But you Go Cowgirl!!!!

You'll be fine. I always panic at the thought of being in charge too.

ROFL! You answered the question in my head with your last sentence. May the Lord ride herd over you and the stock while John's away.

San Antonio, eh? That's where I hail from. Well, sorta...but yeah I am from there!

Ever been to Artisans' Alley on Bitters Road?

I can not believe John left you the straw boss in charge. I hope every animal is very good to you and then let all hell break loose when he gets home

I'm the type who used to LOVE being in charge, now not so much. I am in my "just a worker bee" stage. So I get it.
The words: calf puller make me jittery.

I can't imagine you not being a good straw boss!

I'm pretty sure you can handle it better than I could. Hubby just told me you are only about 35 miles away from us. Neat!

Cute photo of you and the cow. I just had to comment it is such a good picture for your blog. I am sure you will be able to hold down the fort until the return of the man.
