Hogs & More Hogs

Shelly Marie looks so silly in this picture. I don't know why because she doesn't look like this. See her teeth? Well she doesn't have them any longer that is why she is living on borrowed time. Anyway she is missing again and we looked everywhere for her but didn't find her. We will try again tomorrow. She is due to have a calf soon. John thinks in December but yet she may have had it and not brought it to meet the herd yet. As we were searching for her we ran upon two wild sows with all their little babies. All those little legs running behind the Mamas looks so cute. When Mama says run they run. In another field we spotted a javelina (another kind of wild hog) and her baby. The coyotes haven't discovered the ducks in the stock tank yet. They are real hogs themselves. The turtles have learned to dive into the water when they see a duck coming because they will swim right over them and almost take the bread out of their mouth. The renter lady told us they found a free llama on Craig's List and it was at the town north of us. She said she wanted it but knew it wouln't fit into their car.

Shelly Marie does look a bit on the goofy side in that picture. You just never see pictures of cows with their teeth showing. I sure hope she shows up with the rest of the herd with a little calf by her side and that nothing has happened to her. Let us know about the llama if the renter lady gets it ~ I bet she told you about it as a hint that you would offer to trailer it or something for her.

Donna is right! A free Llama? Don't folks eat them? I don't know that much about them but they are definitely unique, John could load them his truck????

They could walk it home?

Give Shellie Marie our love when youfind her!!!

That is: John could loan them his truck!!!

One of these days I will learn to proof read!!

Yes John could loan them his truck but he doesn't allow renters to have animals other then in the yard and of course they sneak some into the house. It probably sounds mean but his cattle are his business and if they start getting animals they will be eating his cattle food and first thing you know there goes his profit. I know one little llama and then there is two.

Hope you find Shelly Marie! I hope she is okay. What a great picture of her. Wow a llama!? That would be a nice addition to any farm!

Shelly Marie says

"can I borrow your chapstick?"

me again ... I know... but I just love poppin' in to see what's up ~~ I hear you on your response about the llama. I don't think it sounds mean at all. CATTLE are your business... it's YOUR livelihood and the way the economy is you certainly don't need to jeopardize that ~ especially with a llama. If they came right out and asked to have it on the property I think I'd say no to it. I'd just tell them ~ sorry; but you'll have to go and find your own land for that purpose ~ not this rental property.

I love the picture of Shelly Marie, she is indeed a beauty!! I love here little teeth!! I know she is accounted for since I've been reading from recent to older :) and I'm happy to hear that. Sounds like the turtles have the ducks figured out, turtles are much smarter than we would think.
