Shelly & Salmon

Shelly Marie is finally present and accounted for. We looked for that girl for about two hours. There are a lot of places for cows to hide. We had thought a cow we call the crazy cow might be with her and the young bull John just bought from his son had not been seen. They were with the herd this morning so we were starting to worry about Shelly Marie. It seemed she must be alone. We thought she may have fallen in a hole in the dry creek bed. I let John out to walk the creek and I drove around to pick him up. When I got to where two gates intersect and near the stock tank there she is with her lumbering walk. She stopped and I stopped to give her some cubes. I walked behind her to see if I could tell if she had her calf already but it didn't look to be so. I drove on to pick John up and I got out to holler at him that she is okay so he could quit looking. I said she must have been tired of drinking that old muddy water and came up for some fresh water. John thinks she was just lonely. Now about the salmon---I parched some peanuts in the oven before John got home so he didn't suspect a thing. I acted completely innocent and waited until he went to bed to have a good salmon snack.

That Shelly! I wonder if she was just playing games with you. As for the Salmon, I probably missed something in an earlier entry ... am not sure why you have to sneak salmon. Maybe it's a guilty pleasure?
Best,
Marty
