Whats That Smell?

When the cats away the mouse will play. While John is playing dominoes I am making salmon patties. John hates fish and hates to smell it cooking. I loooove salmon patties so as soon as he left I ran (well I didn't run, I drove) to Wal*Mart to buy a can of salmon. I had all the other ingredients on hand. The question is---do you think he will be able to detect the odor when he gets home? I have the vent-a-hood running full blast, I have ceiling fans on high, I threw the leavings from the iron skillet in the back yard for any real cats in the neighborhood. Good smelling candles in several rooms, a few windows open and all the dishes are washed. Did I do good or what? Whoops better put some good smelling hand lotion on my hands. I've got about two more hours to get the smell outta this house.

Forgot to say the salmon patties are in a covered dish in the very back of the fridge. Yep I'm that mouse alright.

This mouse cooked turnips this morning while Cliff slept. He hates turnips and he hates to smell them, but he had no choice today. I'll admit I don't think they smell too great, but I like to eat them once in awhile.

And I was sure he still came home and said, "What's that smell?" Your title was misleading. I hope you took a tic tac like the commenter suggested. I remember one husband not being able to stand the smell of cooking cabbage not that I cooked it that often, but I have never heard of any man so allergic to the smell of fish. Does he ever go fishing? No!!

I love salmon patties too ~ and my Dear Hubby isn't a fan of them either. So... like you ~ when he's gone ... I cook it! But... I don't care if he smells it ~ he likes eating canned oysters and smelly limburger cheese and those smells about gags me and he makes no effort whatsoever of disguising it. So I don't try to hide it when I have salmon. Fairs fair.

I love salmon (or mackerel) patties. My used to always use mackerel because it was cheaper.
