Yep We Saw John Wayne Today

He was shorter and he was younger but he was John Wayne. He was showing his calf at the stock show up the street as was John's granddaughter. Lots of work for these kids trying to get the animals to stand straight and be still and cooperate. The Wee competition was so cute. Those kids (two girls and one boy) must have not been over three years old. They were allowed to have a parent or grandparent in the ring to help them. The wee little ones couldn't have controlled an animal alone but they were trying. All three won a blue ribbon. John's granddaughter won Grand Champion.

Speaking of who we saw--yesterday when we ate at the hospital cafeteria we were caught red handed. Red handed by the cardiologist with a plate of fried chicken. He looked at the plate and told us to enjoy our dinner. I was wondering if he was seeing dollar signs before his eyes thinking they will be in my office before long eating like that. No I don't think he was thinking that he is a very nice doctor and was probably thinking I wish they wouldn't eat like that. He was dressed in shorts and told us he was there to get some change as he was on his way to play tennis. He needed quarters to turn the lights on at the tennis courts. We glady let him go ahead of us but the cashier was not impressed with a doctor and just continued ringing our order up.

I bet the chicken didn't taste quite as good as it should have after seeing the cardiologist!

Time to get a new doctor! My doctor left town and now I'm in search of a new primary doctor. I was talking with the gal at the clinic and I told her this time around I need someone who's fat and unhealthy looking. I don't even care what his credentials are.

There are just some occasions when you just have to eat fried chicken, doctor or not. I sure if you eat it once in a while you'll be fine.

You and I do think alike, on that subject. That is all we had was fried chicken on Sunday on the farm. We raised the chickens. My dad lived to be 97 aND LOVED GREASY FOODS AND FAT.
