Help! I Lost My Mop And The Floor Is Sticky

You may say how can a person lose their mop? I can and I did. Was I riled, I just bought this new mop because John broke the handle on my other one. It is the kind you can take the mop off and throw it in the washing machine. I like the squeezing part so I didn't have to get my hands wet. After mopping I always hung it on the clothes line to dry before putting it in the garage. Always where it belonged either on the line or in the gargage, a no brainer, right? When John started to mow the back yard he didn't want the mop handle to hit him in the head so he slid the handle into the pipe cross bar of the clothesline pole. Hummm I think this is a good place to keep it. Dryed out and out of the way and always where it belongs. Sooo today my feet are sticking to the kitchen floor everytime I walk. Get that bucket of hot water and ready to tackle sticky and no mop. I look at the clothes line pole several times and it just isn't there. I go to the garage several times and look. Not there and I'm more then riled. Who would steal a used mop? Finally in desperation I walk to the clothes line to look on the side of the house. I see something that looks like split pieces of paper in the end of the cross bars of the clothesline pole. Humm I think the birds have been making a nest in there again and John has stuffed paper in there to stop them. DUH! Then it dawns on me that is the end of the mop not paper. Some how the mop handle was pushed all the way into the crossbar and all but hid the entire mop. I was so relieved and mad at myself I put the bucket and mop in the garage and the floor is still sticky.

Paula, you sure know how to spin a tale. The Mop tale. Mop Mop doodle dee, Rag mop, doodle doodle da de oh da!

Well something like that, that is what went thru my mind. I hate sticky floors!!

Sherry bought a new mop for mark's house the last time we were here, now she can't find it, and Mark doesn't have a clothes line! So that was no help! But thanks for the story!!!

Now that's funny. I thought I was the only one who could lose something like a mop.

I'm always losing or misplacing something and it drives me nuts!

I've soooooooo been there done that. I can misplace things like a mop or a broom like no tomorrow! I swear ~ these objects grow legs and walk away and hide. Now go mop that floor before the mop sprouts wings and flies away!

Yes, I'm one of those people who can lose anything -- even mops.

Glad that you found your mop. In a day or so you can tackle that sticky floor so it will be unsticky for Christmas, by the way that clothes line was a good storage place anyway. Helen

I must put things away in the same place all the time, or I will never find them. My hubby is great at locating things that I misplace. I like the mop tale, something to think about but if I place my mop on the clothesline, the wind will take it to El Paso or beyond!

haha nice! Due to its thin profile, I would say a mop is pretty easy to lose. Mine often gets shoved in back of the refrigerator or in back of a door all the time! lol

how have you been paula? great pic on the front of your blog by the way!

By the way I love the new header on your blog of San Antonio River. I have a hard time keeping track of mops as well for some reason. I am reduced now to wiping up the bathroom with wet paper towels. Ever tried that in an emergency? I am glad you found yours!
