Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Some Cows Like Cubes Like Some Women Like Chocolate
Saturday afternoon John was feeding some of the poorer (skinny) cows cubes. They love cubes when it is dry and there is no green grass . They have the nutrients they need. The cows doesn't mean to be rude but they want to make sure they get their share so people have to remember to be careful and not a good idea to turn your back on them. I was standing by the fence pen talking to the cow and calf who are getting the special treatment now days in the pen. I felt a hot breath on my neck and turned to see a cow ready to lick my face. I put my open hand hard against her face telling her all the while I don't have any cubes. Another cow hooked her from behind and she jumped sideways wrenching my arm and shoulder. Ouch! That hurt! Its better now after a few nights of Bio-Freeze and a warm blanket.

Large animals are a potential hazard, glad you're feeling better! do you feed them sugar cubes or is it some other type of cube?
No J. they are not sugar and they are not shaped like cubes. They are dark long round shaped but they are called cubes. I don't know why but they love them after they find out what they are.
They need their calories!
All the nutrients in the cubes make for an anxious reciever...sorry you took the a bunting from one of the cows. That Bio-Freeze is some pretty great stuff...I use it on my back and my foot whenever I re-injure. Take it easy awhile Paula.

Awwww, I feel for you with the arm. Of course I caused my on, I wish I could blame a cow, or even a bird or something!!!!!
Good entry, thanks for the ranch info.
Reminds me of the time old Suzie swung her head at a fly and gave me a black eye with her horn. You have to watch those cows.
