This picture is for lucy. Roadrunners are smaller then wild turkeys. and they look different The correct name I believe is Chaparell birds and the Mexican people call them Pasiano birds. They were missing from the ranch today. We didn't see any. I don't know where they go. We did see a fine coyote cross in front of us on one of the little roads on the ranch. At first glance John and I both thought it was a deer. Most coyotes we see are small, dark, and scroungy. The one today was big, light, and healthy looking. Lisa over at Salemslot helped me name Ginger's calf. She had suggested Cinnamon but I told her it is solid black so I was thinking Pepper and she agreed, so Pepper it is. I don't know how we will tell it from all the other new calves as most are being born black like the bulls. Its hard to distinguish if there are no markings. Noel was looking around everywhere as he had been separated from his mom Shelly Marie. He really is a mama's boy. It was muddy everywhere but not enough rain to keep us from driving anywhere. We had one mesquite tree down in front of a gate but John can still squeeze the truck down the lane until he cuts it in pieces or pulls it out of the way. The turtles are fine.

If you're on the highway and Road Runner goes beep beep.
Just step aside or might end up in a heap.
Road Runner, Road Runner runs on the road all day.
Even the coyote can't make him change his ways.

Road Runner, the coyote's after you.
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.
Road Runner, the coyote's after you.
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.

That coyote is really a crazy clown,
When will he learn he can never mow him down?
Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone,
Just runnin' down the road's his idea of having fun.

I couldn't resist

Thank you Paula, for the picture. I don't think we have road runners here. I have never seen any. Of course you go to the western part of the state and it is different. I just read where there was a bobcat somewhere down there and of course some buffalo. Glad the turtles are doing good.
