And The Winner Is------

Which town is the lucky one? The town where the winners live or the town where the tickets were sold. Gosh! I don't know. John's little hometown west of here is a dead onehorse town (what ever that saying means) but there have been two lottery winners who live there but the thing is they both bought their tickets here in our town. Several years ago a man won the lottery and we hear he went broke and commited suicide after a few years. Now a lady has won, not the whole ball of wax because she didn't match the power ball just the rest of the number which brought her something like 200,000 I think. She was a brave woman to have her name and picture posted in our local paper. John says it didn't say anything about her having a husband but she will have one now. lol She says she is going to buy a new truck and fix her house up so I'm happy for her. John and I used to buy one ticket every week (we're big spenders) but haven't in several years so we said we were going to buy a ticket for tonight but we forgot. Probably a lot of people in our county had the same idea and what are the odds there would be another winner in our county?

You never know about the odds Paula but we used to do the same thing...a dollar on Saturday and a dollar on Wednesday but I got discouraged and decided those two dollars would be better spent on a taco or something!

Seems so many people that win crash and burn. I hope this lady fairs better.

i haven't played in YEARS. i've heard a horror story or two about winners in the DFW area too. i don't think it's all it's cracked up to be...

I just never think I can win but Joe gets one about once a month and have not won yet. That Lady is brave to publish it in the newspaper. I agree with John, she may not be married now but she probably will be.

I'm reminded of the guy who kept praying to win the lottery, after a few years, in the quiet of the evening he prayed the same prayer. A voice from heaven said, "help me out here Tom, buy a ticket!"

Most lottery winners use the money wisely and florish, the ones who blow it are the ones you hear about.

If I were ever to win, no pictures and no interviews. (But I will send all y'all a gift)Most who sink were the ones who allowed the advertisement.

Take care and thanks for another good story!

I don't do lottery and I've stopped entering those publisher sweepstakes -- I just can't handle the disappointment!
