We Didn't Walk Five Miles To School In The Snow When We Were Young

However as old people we did drive 45 minutes in one hundred degree temps to check on an urn in the cemetary. You knew I was going to do it, didn't you? Poor John he fed and worked cattle this morning and was dog tired. Well I wasn't exactly sleeping. I trimmed limbs that were hanging over my neighbors drive from my Red Bud tree. We ate lunch, took a little siesta and then hit the road for San Antonio not knowing what we would find or what we would do about it. When we drove up to our grave site area John told me to park under a tree and he would wait in the truck. You can tell how excited he was, huh? I walked in the boiling sun to the statue. I could already tell from the road the square was still open and not sealed. I'm getting a little nervous at this point wondering if I should take the urn out and look in it. Instead of doing that I raised as high as I could onto my tippy toes. I'm feeling a little foolish about now as I can see the top is open and it looks very familiar as my eyes drop to the bottom of (ahem) the urn. There are tiny little holes where a small thin chain can be attached. Oh my gosh we drove all the way to San Antonio to view a tombstone vase that had probably been hit by a lawn mower and broke off and someone didn't know which grave it went to so they stuck it in the square. Mystery solved but I still don't know why the square was open. Maybe they are going to use it soon or maybe whatever it is sealed with came loose. I can tell you I didn't show my silly face to the office staff asking silly questions.

oh, i'm glad you checked on it. it wouldn't have been right to worry if it was 'occupied'. :)

As I would have said in the 1950's, "You are the cats Meow!"
I bet you would have had a cow if someone had said boo while you were raising on you tip toes to look in, huh.

You should have told John that a Big Rattler was in there protecting the mystery man.
You are a dectective, too bad you weren't hired to find out.
