Added Insult To The Misery

As if it isn't hot enough and dry enough someone had to drive into a telephone pole down by the post office and knocked out our electricity for seven hours. Do you know what it's like without air in south Texas in summer? Yes we still have summer and no rain. However a big wind storm blew up last night and tore our back storm door off. John has a habit of not closing it good. His house is flat on the ground so now any varmit or bug can gome in if he leaves the big door open. We have had two oilfield explosions in one week last week. Guess accidents go with an oil boom but sad two men were burned in one of them and a lot of big trucks were destroyed in the other. No Jack I wasn't on the cruise but I did spend a lot of time on my new mat but I'm feeling better now. There is just not much to write about without repeating how hot and dry it is here. The cows are holding their own with John going out often with feed and keeping the water going. I'm sad we are not seeing the cottontail rabbits and quail. I had hoped they were being replentished but somthing else must have needed lunch.

sorry about the continued heat/drought, and made worse by the electrical outage! - you're in much worse shape than we are here near DFW. we're supposed to have 90s again tomorrow then finally dropping to 80s for the rest of the week. and i do hope we get some rain soon...

Yeah I was hoping you had got some rain. Always good to read what ever you write. If it is nothing, you can make it interesting. Glad the well is still holding out. Hope the new "MAT" is comfortable!!!!

Losing power in a heat wave is the worst. Mine was out for 24 hours last month and I almost checked into a motel.

You poor thing! I can't imagine no air in your heat. Sending cooling and rainy prayers your way.

Shirl and I can keep doing the rain dancing, but got to think on what we can do to bring you cooler weather...snow dancing might work but Lucy would get after us if we start that to early...well lets be honest, she's gonna get after us for it no matter when we start...ha. We can't seem to keep the snow away from her...Hoping you have a rainy, cooler week ahead, Sheila

I left a comment but it didn't post....I am not really an AC girl, & while others are blasting theirs, mine is usually off...BUT I don't live in sTexas, that must have been murder....& I am still hoping you get a big dose of rain.

That had to be terrible. That is adding insult to injury. I wish you could get some rain. One time when we were down to visit my son when they were still a family, it rained so hard we were nearly running board (if they had them) deep. We had to pump our brakes they got so wet, Marty said that would help stop us.

I hate being without A/C!!

That's very sad about the explosion and resulting deaths.
