It's A Mud Puddle

As we neared the ranch we saw that it had showered. Not a hard rain or soaking rain like we need but wet is wet. At the gate there was actually a mud puddle. It felt so fresh with the windows down driving through where the hungry cows were waiting. The boss cow followed us everywhere trying to take the food away from the poorer cows. She is a big black with a white face and big horns. Then there is a second boss. Who would have thought cows have a pecking order? We haven't seen the quail in a few days. I'm hoping the renter's cats haven't had them for lunch. I intended to take some extra lettuce and put it into the pens where I see the little cotton tail but I forgot it so next time hopefully. We have a slim chance for rain for several days. It won't cure the problem but we're thankful for any amount in this stage of the game. One of the Jersey's has a new baby and it is sooo tiny. All the new calves are black so there is no need to name them as I can't tell them apart as they grow.
