Ants

I've kind of gotten attached to the ant on the upper right of my header. Someone said it must have been on my camera. Maybe that was the year we had ants in the house really bad but I learned how to get rid of those suckers but it takes a while. Put little bottle caps of corn meal in little out of the way places. No poisen involved and if one gets knocked over it is easy to clean up. They carry it back to their den and I think when they eat it, it bloats them or something and they die. Anyway I got rid of all of them (except the one on my header) and they haven't been back. I have lots of clean bottle caps in my junk drawer just in case.

I'm so doing this when it gets warmer. It seems I have a yearly battle with ants. (Hugs)Indigo

Glad you told us about this they're bad here sometimes when it rains and my husband gets out the poison I have to wash everything after he does it. Take care, Jean

yikes. I've heard of Ants in the Pants but not in the camera. Not sure how the camera would fare if you sprinked cornmeal all over it, but am glad that it did the trick for the rest of the house!

Wow that is a good idea. I had never heard of that. We used to have that issue in the other house. So far so good in this one. But we get ladybugs in our sunroom instead.

Sorry I've been away from reading for so long. It's so hard to keep up with all the blogs I read sometimes. Blogger now offers an email subscription you can add to your sidebar. It's great. When you make an entry in your blog, it comes straight to my inbox. It makes keeping up so much easier. Have a good week!

Paula's Patient tips. Sounds like good advice. Wonder does it work for fire ants? Amazing how they are taking over the world. Not 20 years ago I heard they were coming up from florida (while we were in NC) now they are all over the South!!! I hates dem little boogers......

Thanks lady!!

Ants don't bother me. Those little guys seem to have serrated wit.~Mary

Cream of wheat supposedly does the same thing. We have fire ants here and I don't think anything kills them. We use some poison but it just sends them on their way and they build a mound elsewhere!
