A Terrible Thing

John took me for a ride yesterday afternoon to show me what someone had done on a country road. This is the road we can take a short cut to the ranch his daughter lives on. The road where bad people used to dump all kinds of things. Even large swing sets and such. Its a nice road and curves around toward the highway but not pretty with junk on the sides so the owner of the surrounding property put up cameras pointing toward the road and warning signs. It stopped the dumping fast but now--- some nut had the nerve to remove the head of a deer. We couldn't tell what happened to the deer and didn't want to get out of the truck in front of that camera so we just paused. Someone had cut the head in a perfect circle around so it evidently had a nice rack of horns which they wanted to claim as their own. Maybe even mount and put it on the wall in their den. So bad!

That was a horrible thing to do. Unfortunately, some people have less brains than a deer - - and no heart at all......

yup, i bet there's a taxidermy shop working on the trophy now - such a waste!

unfortunately there are people that do such things. My alcoholic neighbor's would be capable of doing something like that. Yes it is a terrible thing.

This saddens me. I LOVE deer. A trophy gotten like that isn't worth much, IMHO. SHAME on whoever did this.

If they would do that, they would make up a good lie about how they got it. Hunting game is away of life for many people. I do not know anyone who kills for fun or trophies. Most folk use the meat to augment their grocery money.

Such a shame to leave all that to waste, just for a trophy.

That is a really sad thing. I can see killing deer for food, but I don't like killing anything for sport. Even worse, the case you described...like you said, would take a nut. I hope the cameras caught them..lol.

It gets bad when cameras have to be set up to stop trash dumping. We have people like that here too. :(

Sad tale Paula. Unfortunately it's not an isolated incident...happens all the time but it's just not right.

Oh that is terrible! So sad someone would do that to a deer. Not a very humane way for a deer to die.
