Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Halloween Moon In April
We drove in tonight toward the full moon which looked very Holloweeny without the witch on a broom. We're not often out after dark but decided to check the ranch to see if the renters are going by the new rules in keeping the gate closed over the cattle guard and locking it at night. We've decided for now we won't be so predicitable to better keep an eye on the cattle. I intended to feed my turtles but the mesquitoes were so bad I opted out on that. I could have watched cattle being branded today. I didn't, but John did. His son is doing it a new way to us. He took them all to the vet and they put them into the squeeze chute one at a time. Then a hydrolic lift lifted them and gently turned them on their side to brand and vacinate. In stead of using fire they used an acid to mark the brand. I'm going to have to watch this next time. Seems much easier on the cattle. John and I are sad today as Susie didn't come for breakfast this morning. Daisy has been absent lately too. There are some mean tom cats in our neighborhood. We hope they didn't harm our girls.

I didn't know there was a full moon tonight. Thanks for telling me; I went out on the porch and checked, and you are right. There IS a full moon!
I said a
prayer for
Susie & Daisy
I've had the same thoughts about the moon of late!
Oh I do hope your kitties return...soon. Keep up posted.
The full moon has been spectacular these past two nights. I was out in the yard watching it rise last night and it did look very Halloweeny.
Dear Paula, dropping in once again to say hello and to wish you a nice Easter weekend.
We are not out at night as a rule either, but I can definitely see your reasoning for varying visits.
Hope the girls are all right and will show up for breakfast in their Easter Bonnets.
Love from across the Gulf!!!
Yes, that moon was just like a Halloween moon. I hope the cats are okay... maybe they're just out prowling under the full moon and will return when the skies again darken.
The full moon by the ocean is one of my very favorite things.
That's a good way to describe the moon these last 2 nights! I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend :)
Oh I really hope Susie and Daisy are okay!
Cats have a way of worrying you to death then showing up and looking at you like they're asking what all the fuss is about...that branding sounds pretty high tech...I'm sure it's easier on the stock.
