Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Country Excitement
It doesn't take much to entertain me. This morning as I was eating my taco and sipping my coffee while we were waiting for the house resevoir to fill with water John walked over to the stock tank. He started calling me to come there. I couldn't imigine what was there other then the turtles and two or so cat fish I feed regularly. Wow when I got there I could see there was a whole school of small fish swimming around. We decided new renters had put them there as we had all discussed putting more fish in the tank. As we were finishing up our tail gate breakfast the renter drove up to ask John a question. I said we saw the fish you put into the tank. He said we didn't put those there, we thought you did. Humm we had a long discussion about those and how they got there and what kind they are. Guess the small cat fish hatched some eggs. It will be interesting to see what developes. I know they weren't interested in eating the cat food I was pitching in. Maybe because the cat food was almost as large as they are.

cool! babies! hope some of them make it to maturity!
and i know herons and egrets carry fish eggs in on their feet, sometimes, too.
You'll have to tell us the rest in awhile. Sandie
Very interesting to me.
Oh wow TexasWisGirl thanks for telling me about the egrets and the fish eggs. Can't wait to tell this to John and The New Renter. We have one that is often perched on the old boat.
Mysteries you come up with. But then I don't know anyone who feds Catfish cat food. hahahahahahaha
You always make me want a breakfast Taco (when we do get down there I want to get one where you do,LOL)!
Love from here.
Sounds like the catfish are bearing youngsters...wonder if any of them will reach their teens.? Ha! And, yes, I nearly jumped out of the boat when that mouse ran up my back and ponytail...what a 'tale' to tell. The GrandLoves think it was pretty funny.

What a neat surprise! It will be so much fun to follow their progress.
Funny, but cool thing how you can take a pond that no one has placed fish in since it is dug,and yet fish will appear there after a time.
Very interesting, Paula. I have been told by my country cousins that I missed a lot by being a city girl. You are making me believe it!
How Neat! When they grow up, maybe you can cull a few for catfish dinner.
