Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

Who Would Toot This Horn?
This is not one of John's cows although he did have a small herd of longhorns at one time. They have all aged and died and some were sold to the man who leases the large ranch John leased for over 30 years. This pretty cow is one we saw on one of our country road treks. It was friendly and posed for me. Today as we were passing the cattle auction we drove through the parking lot slowly to view some of the cattle that will be auctioned off tomorrow and there was a couple of beautiful longhorns. John always likes to tease me and hint that he may buy it. Then when I agree he says no better not it will be hooking all my cattle with those horns and hurting them. Those longhorns can get into a lot of trouble but they sure are beautfiul.

I love the long horns too but heard they like to tear up fences, sigh!! I'll just admire someone elses too, lol.
Well I honestly don't know a whole lot about cows - but I have heard of the Long Horn! Nice. sandie.
They are pretty and so interesting to me!
That one has a beautiful set of horns. I don't see that kind of cow here, or rarely. My crazy cowboy bought a set of those long horns (mounted) someplace out West. They are really big, 44" across and mounted on a short base. I like them on a cow, but not in the house..lol.
That is an interesting house in your header. I am wondering how many generations it has known.
They are beautiful, but I had nevrer seen how wide those horns can be until our trip to Dodge city. Amazing Some look 8 feet across.
Neat picture!
that is one beautiful rack!!!
My neighbor's son had some of those at one time in South AL. I don't know he may still have some. I will say that I would not want to be around them.
Wow, those are some horns.
I love the commercial on CNN that has a longhorn and then a Scene of confusion. Can't remember what they call the place but the trucks and so forth get organized. I would not want to be near those horns,
My brother used to have a longhorn up in Wisconsin. It was a beautiful animal. Thanks for sharing your pic and refreshing my memory.
'hugs from afar'
I've yet to be able to take a decent picture of a longhorn. We don't have all that many here in East Texas. Charolais is the in thing now!
