When I look in the mirror I see a me, if it's early in the morn. I want to flee.
Hair standing on end, no make-up in sight, looks like Mr. Sandman didn't come last night.
Just slits for eyes and wrinkes deep, I see a me who needs some sleep.
So I wash my face and comb my hair, searching in my closet for something to wear.
Shower water splashing against my face, to try to meet the world with grace.
Brushing and floosing with a squirt of mint, taking care of me is time well spent.
Me feels better and takes another peek, until insomnia hits again next week.

When you are cutting up bananas and apples to add to cherry jello at three in the morning you know you have insomnia. Crossword puzzles and cheetos at two o'clock. World news, check the neighbors out the blind. Oh heck everyone one is asleep so step out in my gown to feed the poor cat. She seems to have insomnia too. If I don't sleep tonight I'm taking a pill.

oh dear. sounds like your mind is working overtime!
This was so cute but I'm so sorry for the cause of the inspiration!
One thing about it, it at some time inspired a neat poem, of the heart.
Hope you sleep well tonight!!!
Love from here!!
Is this something lived with for a long time, or just happens at odd times in your life?
I know Debbie used to talk a lot about it and I think it is Darla, mabe Mel. Anyway, GO TO SLEEP!
Pauline, you are so clever!
I do hope you sleep well tonight.
I'm a nightowl. Up all night and sleep in the morning til noon. I know how frustrating trying to get some shuteye is. Hope you have a more restful night tonight.
Is it a full moon? I only had about four hours sleep last night, and I've been awake since 6 a.m. Getting ready to go try to sleep though. I have to be up early tomorrow. Hope you get some sleep tonight. I really like the poem!!
I hope you sleep tonight. sandie
I too have insomnia issues. I blame my age. I really should get up and do something productive during those hours. However; I usually just play internet games or watch an old movie.
Wishing you peaceful, restful nights.
'hugs from afar'
I know exactly what you mean about being unable to sleep. Men simply can sleep through anything it seems. Cute poem.
