In Town, Out Of Town, And All Around The Town

Our air smells really bad tonight. We had a nasty fire over next to the airport. It even hopped the street and almost burned a house. Yes we do have an airport. Well it is a little airport but it has lights all around it and looks pretty at night. We also have a junior college and a country club which I don't belong to. We also have horses, cows, goats, and chickens in town. Sometime I don't know if I live in town or out of town. I owe Miss Daisy an apology. She didn't leave that little black kitten here. When I went into the storage room behind the carport this morning a black and white cat (not kitten) jumped out of nowhere and scared me to death. No telling how many babies are camping out in there. Now I know some will say why don't you have them all spayed or neutered? They are not my cats, they belong to a neighbor. Susie is my only cat and she was spayed years ago. She is old and has used up a lot of her nine lives.

sorry about the fire. it is so dangerous this time of year. sadly for so much of the country, too.

That's a shame about the fire. The ground being so dry it can't be good. That airport sounds like the ones my hubby used to fly out of back in the day. He was a pilot. LOVE the kitties. You and Jon, from the other blog seem to have your fair share of feline visitors. Take care.

So sad about the fire. Be safe and watch out for cute kitties!

You don't live in a one horse town after all if you have a country club. Fires are terrible. We had one the rural fire dept. and several others responded to a fire by Joe's old home town, Crete. No houses were near and they contained it pretty quick.

I was just commenting to Sherry how expensive it is to have a pet now, even if they are FREE!
I understand the 'scare', once in Cuba I was dumping the trash in a dumpster, and out came a cat in hi gear and screaming. I almost lost it. Ha.
Youhave a big heart lady.

I posted a small portion of our front yard on my blog. You can see how dry we are. Cool this AM. 52 when I got up but will get warmer.
