Rain & Fire

We had a nice rain this week-end early in the morning so it made for nice sleeping. Too wet to check the back forty, but it was probably too wet to work on the fence which was supposed to be finished today. Also can't check to see if the fence builder fixed the road over the dry creek as he said he would. Before the rain there have been three fires in the area so the rain was so much appreciated. The one I wrote about near the airport burned four or five very large Live Oak trees along the street. They look like they are goners but I guess spring will tell the tale. Another fire was on the highway and didn't threaten anything and the third one was in the next town over. It burned a whole vacant lot right up to all the fences. Very near an elderly ladies home on one side and a business on the other. The fire department must have got there to water all along the fence line. We pray for more rain and no more fires.

The rain was a blessing given how dry everything has been. Hope the fires are contained for now.

Fires are always scary. It is hard to realized the power of a fire until you see some up close movie views of it, just eating trees and houses. Hope you get more rain. If we had time we would drive down. everywhere we have parked this thing it started raining. hahahahaha

So happy for the rain for your countryside. But not the fires. Hope all stays wet enough to help.
As for washouts, they can really be a pain. You just never know how quickly they turn bad. A fire burned out a couple of friends property and one of their places near Gorman last year. It was terrible but thank God, their lives were spared. They did loose cattle tho and hundreds of acres. I pray for your safety.

We finally had a good long rain last Sunday. All the weeds loved it. My lawn is growing and I can hear my lawnmower groaning.....

I am happy for you that you got rain. I have seen fires everywhere when they show the map, on TV. I have not seen anything about any in Nebraska for a while and I hope we don't get any.
