Just a country girl kicking around the dirt roads taking pictures of trees, gates, animals. cactus, and anything else that strikes my un-fancy mind. You are welcome to take a look and come back if you like.

So Much For A Fellow's Word
The fence builder who was hired to build the deer proof fence across the back of the back forty and part way down one side gave his word that he would call before beginning the work. Just on a whim or maybe experience John closed the two gates to the back forty several days ago. If his cows got on the neighboring property it would be a rodeo to get them out of that thick brush. Yesterday we drove to the back just to see if there had been any activity since we had not gone out the day before. As we entered the gate we could see what looked like a pick-up moving slowly across the back. When we got near the back we could see the old fence was all down and the brush cleared. Wow it looks different back there. Lots going on at this ranch lately. Anyway I guess the man could figure out John wasn't real happy he didn't call so he ask if there was anything he could do for him since he already has the dozer out there. John told him he could use the little narrow road that goes down through the dry creek bed fixed. There is just barely two little ruts to drive through and you have to watch to keep from falling off in a hole on either side. He said I'll fix it. It will be great but it is right in the creek and the water washes down hard when and if it rains it may wash it out again.

I'm so glad you got him to do a little extra for you since he didn't call ahead!
well, i hope he'll fix the road, then. :)
Good thing you went back there to check, hope he does what he says.
Yeah, some folk do not consider their word of much value. You and I know that there was a time.........
Yep, but it seems to be fast going away!
Love from New Hampshire.
I am amazed as I read your entries at times the enormous responsibility that comes with this ranch. Good thing you guys followed up and glad you got some consideration out of this person.
It's hard to find reliable workers these days. Hope he turns out to be ok in the long run. Have a great week :)
Glad you went back to check! sandie
Sometimes you can't take people at their word. Good thing you checked.
