Who Is That Stranger?
Yesterday I awoke from a hard nap. I waddled down the hall, through the living room and into the kitchen thinking of something cold to drink only to find a stranger sitting with his back to me at our table. Who is this stranger I'm thinking? Did I give birth to a son and have forgotten? John isn't young, John doesn't have dark hair. His hair is grey or maybe he would prefer silver. The young man didn't hear me come in and had his back to me so I have time to calculate the situation. Did John open a restaurant in our kitchen while I was sleeping? Is this young man waiting for a menu? Oh please don't let him order Baked Alaska and I have to turn the oven on when it's 105 degrees outside. I have that recipe and I did always want to make that but please not today. About that time John steps into the kitchen from the garage and introduces me to Josh. He is young, he is cute, and he is smiling at me but who is this stranger and what does he want from my kitchen? With bated breath John tells me he is changing TV service. What AGAIN? We are just now finally learning to operate the other one. Oh yes this young man is going to give him a cheaper service with more channels blah, blah, blah. While I'm listening to all this important business I take a chair across from young Josh the stranger in my kitchen and l can't believe his uniform has the new service name on the front and his sleeve has the name of the old service on it. What a racket? There must be a lot of people who switch back and forth so selling for the two they can get all the business.

Hey, look at the bright side - at least you didn't have to make Baked Alaska.
My cable TV is so expensive that I'm thinking about switching, but it's all too complicated.
I really miss the good old days when you simply plugged in the TV set and watched Gunsmoke.
i did like how you put the thought processes together until you found out who he was and what he was doing. :)
HAHA
You had me going there for a minute. I thought some long lost relative had showed up and you were having to heat up the oven for him.
I can't learn my Dish network and I have had it forever. hahaha...I sure could not switch and try to learn something else.
Hope your having the best weekend
Love
Maggie
Well at least he was cute and you didn't have to make Baked Alaska! ;)
LOL, the cable guy! You don't want to get me started. My husband used to be a general manager with one of the well known cable companies. I am so glad he took other employment, because he now actually has a life. It is amazing (or sad) how important TV cable has become to people, and I was a witness because he was the complaint department for all callers that were not satisfied with their service, lol.
I get aggravated at my hubby if he brings someone in the house and does not warn me. Never know what I might stumble into the kitchen wearing. Hope you enjoy your new service and all those channels.
You are so funny, Paula. You had me on the edge of my chair.
