Heavy Rack/Skinny Legs

No, not John's animal. This picture is from July when we went through an animal drive-thru park. We were not allowed to get out of the car but could roll down the windows and feed the animals which we did. Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day holiday. Yesterday we headed west to Devine, Texas early to visit an elderly (more elderly then us) man who broke his hip and has to be in a nursing home/ rehab center. Not a fun thing to do but hope the visit brought a little joy to him. This morning seems like Monday. We left for the ranch before daylight. As I drove near the cattle pens my headlights caught sight of a cottontail rabbit. Now I know why I don't see them often. They are smart enough to hunt for food before it gets so hot. It has been hot here lately. I'm so ready for winter, not that most of you would call it winter.

Can't even imagine carrying those horns!

The heat is back here. Hoping it's ending this week.

Nice of you to go visit your friend.

I like the photo but it scares me a little. That's what I'm going to look like very soon if I keep plying myself with junk food!

all ways love to stop by paula country tales. It is interesting to view the animals close up. I know you guys do with cattle all the time but the others are good to see.
Good on you guys to visit someone who will appreciate it.
See you when we get back.....

Rabbits are crafty little things.
And yes, you have the guy with the muddy pickup truck(as you said on my blog) & you are definitely beautiful. Inside & out. ~Mary

I'm sick of hot weather too. Thankfully, it looks like there will be an end to ours very soon.

Now, that is one heavy looking set of horns. Mercy!
It was so nice of you and John to visit one of your friends in the nursing home. It can be a very lonely place. I'm sure you brightened his day.
Smart lil Cottontails...and yes, the heat has enticed even us up north who have 6 months of winter, just yearning for a cool spell.

That looks like a Watusi. Do you think it was? It looks like the size of the horns our bull had.
