Paniolo Ranch

I've been hiding out with my daughters at the Paniolo Ranch Bed and Breakfast Spa for a few days. The owner says Paniolo  means cowboy or cowgirl in Hawaii. The rough, rocky, hills, and dale land wouldn't be good for much of anything but goats so she built a beautiful "getaway" with a view to die for. Pictures can't and don't do it justice. Leah, my youngest drove us all over the rough land on a tiny road. We stood on the wooden diving board high about the land to take in the view. A massage eased the neck and shoulders and the spa at night with the resident cats keeping us company. We window shopped the antique stores in Boerne, Texas. We ate German food in Welfare, Texas in an old building that looked as if it may have been a store and post office in days gone by. We were surprised to see two big dogs in the cafe greeting the customers. They were clean dogs and well behaved but we noticed when they cleaned our table off the dogs followed the waitress to the kitchen. I tagged along as the girls Geocached in the winery parking lot and in several cemetaries. We did a self tour of the winery and then a wine tasting. Two guineas did a great job of watching over the yard and several dogs rode the golf cart with the grounds keeper. Butterflies were in abundance enjoying all the plants. My header picture is not really a chapel, it is actually a storage shed but there is a large iron cross as a back drop for out door weddings and pretty white rock benchs for guest to sit on. A beautiful place where you just wish you could move in and stay forever.

The entire place sounds fantastic. A great way to relax and rejuvenate. The shed disguised as a chapel is a unique and creative idea.

Glad to see you back. Glad you had a great time with the girls, so very important (for you all, but especially for them). Sherry talks so much of her and her mother.

Now that you are spoiled, get to work!!! hahahaha

It sounds so grand, Paula. How I yearn for just such a rest. No GrandLoves for awhile with school starting Tues., so I am staying at the cabin. Maybe I can talk Bill into joining me for cribbage, wide open windows and just a ripple sound from the dried up creek.
So glad you had time with your girls.

What a wonderful time you had in the beautiful hill country! I would absolutely love a getaway like this one.
Your headboard pic is awesome.
I am so lucky to be visiting you this morning. My computer is soooo slow it takes me thirty minutes to get into one site.
After I get home from my trip from Maine with my daughter if I have any money left I will see if I can find some help for my computer.
I miss my friends on here too much to do without one.
Have a wonderful week.
Love
Maggie
